Day 4- Favorite Books

Another "I can't pick just one" post- so I am going to turn this into my favorite books (note the s ;))

Anything by Sophie Kinsella, loved the Shopaholic Series and I also really like her other books too- very light and fun.

Harry Potter Series. OBVIOUSLY. Who doesn't love the Harry Potter books? I think my favorite book is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Charlotte's Web! A Childhood favorite book. I think I read it 100 times... something about cute pigs! Can't resist!

Anything by Mary Kay Andrews! All her books make me want to take a vacation to the deep south and collect things. I really recommend "Hissy Fit" it was the first book I read by her!

Marian Keyes- Sushi for Beginners. Loved it!

Cecelia Ahern- PS I love you- way better than the movie!

Hester Browne- Little Lady Agency  (And then all of the subsequent "little lady" books!)

Day 01- My Favorite Song

Oooh. Favorite Song! Favorites are always tough... so when faced with this decision I think I'll go into iTunes and see which song has been played the most. Although I think the song I am leaning towards might not even be in my iTunes library!!

According to iTunes my favorite song is "Sorority Girl" by Luke Bryan- which I find kind of funny because I'm not even a sorority girl. But that's not my favorite song! And although it's really a hard decision I can narrow it down to two.  "Drives Me Crazy" - Five Young Cannibals and "Forever Young"- Rod Stewart.

Drives Me Crazy- Fine Young Cannibals

Forever Young- Rod Stewart

PS- It was just as I suspected neither one of these songs are actually in my iTunes library! And I think that's why they're actually my favorite. I only hear them once in a blue moon so they're a treat to my ears!

Since I've gotten kind of lazy at my blogging I decided what a fun way to start back than with a "30 Day Challenge." In an ideal world I'll update my blog for each of the next 30 days based on the following guidelines!

Review: Lush "Cinders" Bath Bomb & Lush "Christmas Eve" Bubble Bar

Lush's "Cinders" Bath Bomb

All photos were taken by me on my Canon Digital SD 1100 Digital ELPH in the "Macro" setting.

If you read my blog post a few weeks ago I let you guys know that there were three bath products that I wanted to try by Lush for the winter. Cinder's was one of those ones I'd heard about a lot and I'd wanted to try out. A few weeks ago my roommate went home and since they have a Lush near her I asked her to pick me up one.

Here are my thoughts: it smells HEAVENLY. I didn't use this right away so it sat in my room for about a week and every time I walked in my olfactory senses were delighted to take in its lightly spicy smell.  That being said, after about a week I gave in after a particularly stressful day and used it.

The way these work is when your tub is relatively full (you don't want to do it while its filling up or else it'll be "done" before you get in) you drop it below the faucet and the water starts to dissolve it. As this one dissolves it "crackled" (popped) like a fire. The crackling lasted about 3-5 minutes. While it still smelled nice, the scent wasn't as strong in the water, as it had been in dry form- which was kind of disappointing. It did turn my water a light peachy color, which was nice- but after it finished it's crackling I found myself thinking "now what" no one takes a three minute bath!

I've thought about it and decided that I'm just not a "bath bomb" sort of gal. I like to experience multiple sensations at once, bubble, color, smell, the more senses it can stimulate the better. I tried a bath bomb back in September and hadn't been that impressed, but the fact that this one was supposed to be reminiscent of a crackling fire made me try a second one.  Overall, I'm pretty sure I won't be picking up any more bath bombs.

Lush's "Christmas Eve" Bubble Bar

Initial reaction? LOVE. First of all the smell on this one is so relaxing. It's a jasmine smell which I thought would be too strong because aromatherapy jasmines tend to give me headaches but this was a really light, lovely, concoction. On top of it being adorable to look at with the crescent moon and the glitter, it was also really nice feeling. I cut this into two pieces (because it's relatively large, and I'd been told you could do so) and crumbled it under the running water (as the tub was filling so the bubbles could completely mature) and it instantly made my hands feel butter-y smooth. I'm not sure if it was an intended property of the bubble bar or not but this felt moisturizing and milky, which was nice.

It turned the water a nice shade of periwinkle and as you can see from the above photos produced QUITE a bit of bubbles. The bubbles lasted about 20 minutes, and weren't even completely gone when I decided to get out- which is nice, because a bubble bath without bubbles is just kind of sad. The scent of this one is a bit stronger, so it didn't disappear once it hit the water, which was a pleasant surprise. I also had no problem with this "staining" the tub- which is something I've heard that bath products with color in them can do. Overall I really liked this product. I'd happily repurchase it again next year (:

What, what? Emily 4 1/2 Years Later!

Soooo I just found my old live journal and I found this little "100" facts thing that I wrote about myself in March 2006 and I thought it'd be fun to comment on the stuff that's still the same.... not the same... and just overall make comments. This might be kind of boring, and probably more interesting for me than anyone else, but I can't sleep... soooo.

100 Random things

Okay, so my friend Tina posted this earlier, and I thought it was an interesting idea, so I thought I'd do it too.

1. My middle name is Elizabeth is after my grandmother on my dad's side of the family.
---- Well I mean, somethings can't change, this obviously is still true :P

2. I have a hard time deciding on my favorite color, because there are shades of almost every color I like. But I really like vibrant Reds, Green, and Purples.
---- Mmm Still true, maybe sans the purple now. I gravitate towards green and red.

3. I'm a bit materialistic, I know money isn't everything, but I really feel like to be happy in life I'm going to need it.
---- I honestly found myself telling someone this week that I don't want to be a rich accountant who makes bank. I want a job that I go to everyday and enjoy. Yes it's going to be in accounting, but I don't want my job to be my whole life, and therefore, I probably won't be rich and I'm okay with that.

4. When no one is watching, I dance.
--- I guess this is still true.... lol

5. My idea of the perfect night is laying out in the grass or on the pavement with someone I have romantic feelings "love" for and talking about everything, and just staring at the sky.
--- Ummm how awkward was the wording "romantic feelings." I mean I understand I was only 17 but seriously... awkwardddd.

6. As long as I don't have to get soaked, I'd rather a rainy day than a sunny one.
--- hahaha still true!

7. I think walks in the rain are amazing.
--- As long as I'm not going to class....

8. Playing the guitar is so freaking sexy to me, like I can't explain it.
--- BARF. Musicians are overrated. Overemotional? yes!

9. Politics interest me, and I'd actually love to work for a congressmen or something at some point.
--- BARF. I hate politics. I get frustrated and can't talk about them haha.

10. I really hate the word boobies, I don't know why, but I just dislike it a lot.
--- Hahaha I have NO idea why I felt the need to share this but it's so random... and I guess still true.

11. School supplies make me smile sooo much. I love getting new ones and organizing them. =)!
--- Umm. Yes.

12. I think I look better in black and white.
--- True! But I think everyone does!

13. I am such an attention whore. And it's funny because I don't want people to know that, but I really am. If you aren't paying attention to me, I get a bit annoyed.
--- Ohhh so true. But I'm not in denial anymore.

14. I'm not very competitive sports wise.
--- Yep!! I suck at sports! I understand/accept that!

15. I'm not very TALENTED sports wise either, though soccer would be my stregnth.
--- Agreed! I've tried tennis since I've written this, still true. Very bad at sports!

16. It makes me sad that I'm not very good at math.
--- I'm EXCELLENT at Math.

17. People tell me I'm smart, and I am smarter than some, but I'm not sure I'm that smart. I wish I were.
--- Nope, pretty sure I'm smart.

18. I hate driving at night, I don't like driving that much period.
--- True! But now I don't have to....

19. I'm very insecure. Sadly.
--- Not really true anymore.

20. I want to spend some time abroad, but I'd be too scared to go to another country.
--- Ehh still scared to go to a foreign country alone (I'm kind of dense about things), but I don't want to really "go" abroad for more than a vacation.

21. Not knowing everything scares me. Like if I don't know exactly where I'm going or where something is, I dont want to go.
--- True, true, true. Some things will NEVER change!

22. I hate wearing baithing suits.
--- Does ANYONE like wearing them... I think the last time I BOUGHT a bathing suit was the year this was written. Seriously.

23. <-- that is my favorite number, I'm not sure why.
--- Still my default #.

24. I think putting on shoes totally ruins the outfit. I tend to like my outfits until I put shoes on.
--- Okay, really weird. I didn't remember I'd thought this back then too. It's still really true.

25. I think chocolate really truly does majorely effect my mood.
---- Yes!

26. I want to learn how to fence!, it looks so amazinly fun.

--- Nope! Probably would kill myself.

27. I like to write, but I don't think I'm any good at it.
--- Nope. I am good at it. Reading other people's writing and getting A's in 300 level English classes taught me that.

28. My grammar is awful, it's truly sad.
--- Still so true. I think Amy almost cried one time when I asked her to proof my paper. Something about too many coma's and no sentences ending...

29. Sometimes, when talking on AIM or emailing someone, there's a word I really want to use, but I won't use it because I'm trying to make an intelligent point and dont want to sound retarded when I spell it wrong.
---- Hahaha still true, although I rarely email or get on AIM.

30. I'm really proud to be Irish, I think it's because its an excuse for me being pale.
--- Ummm sure this can still be true... I don't think about it really

31. I never had a problem with being pale until middleschool, when I found out apparently it's a bad thing.
---- Ditto to the comment above. Yet another thing I don't really think of anymore.

32. I really like animals and think they are cute, though I find that if I ever have a lot they will have to be VERY clean.
---- YES. Gross animal people freak me out. If YOU smell like your cats, its a problem.

33. I LOVE being told I smell good, it makes me feel special.
--- Yep. Still love it. Although it doesn't make me feel "special" its just a nice compliment.

34. I think I'm a chameleon (sp), and I change who I am when I'm with different people.
--- Eh. No. Pretty consistent now.

35. Sadly, I've never been kissed, I know, I'm such a loser.

--- Don't really have a comment about this one...

36. I'm so afraid of new things, it's tragic really
--- What's up with my use of annoying adjectives? It's still true though. For example, only time I've been to a bar to go out to drink was my 21st birthday and we were seated at a table and more well behaved than the 40 something's behind us....

37. Boys make me smile so much.
--- Well.... how about Zach and we leave it at just "smile" haha. They can also be frustrating.

--- YES!

43. I love really soft things.
--- Hahaha true. There's a soft blanket that I won't even let Zach touch.

44.I'd love to be about 2 inches shorter.
--- True! I hate how tall I am. Although if I was two inches shorter I'd be pretty chunky...

45. I never understood why girls liked shoes, but now I wish I owned like a million pairs.
--- True! Although I still feel like they mess up outfits unless you have JUST the right pair.

46. I'm frugal.
--- True!

#47 had to be deleted because it was WAY too awkward and I didn't want to share it with the audience that might be reading this :P

48. Just being around alcohol makes me feel disgusting.
--- Well obviously this has changed... Although beer in large quantities makes me want to gag, I hate that smell. For example, going to a microbrewery ... yuck.

49. I think if you smoke you're completely gross, and I dont even want to know you.
--- Okay well I guess I've become a bit more accepting but I still don't like to be around it...

50. I dont think I fit in with my cousins what so ever.
--- Awww. Poor cousins. Not true.

51. I liked pickled eggs. Mmm yum!
---- YES! I haven't had them in YEARS though.

52. My friend Pam and I used to eat pickle sandwitches.
--- Hehehe still true. They were delicious!

53. I don't like people to see me cry, but I expect them to know when I'm upset.
--- True. AND NOW I get mad when people don't pick up on the fact that I'm upset.

57. I've never tried drugs and I don't feel the desire to, just ew.
--- AGREED!

58. Oh man, this girl wants a porsche. Hell yes she does.
--- Okay, now who is going to change their mind on this one?? I mean seriously...

59. I don't see the big deal about cussing, they're just words.
--- True! Although I do wish people understood when it was proper to say them.. for example, not during your debate in management!

60. I like markers, and crayons.
--- True. I haven't used them in like three years though.

61. I wish I was more outgoing.

--- I honestly don't care that I'm not outgoing anymore. It's just one of those things you grow to accept.

62. I'm not a big fan of fruit, I'd rather eat veggies.
--- Still true!

63.. I really do like salads, and I'm not even being a girl.
--- Still true. Although that is some awkward verbage there I think I meant that I wasn't trying to perpetuate that female stereotype.

64. I love getting all dressed up. I wish there were more chances to around here.
--- True! I haven't had an excuse to wear a little party dress in years!

65. I'm pretty against abortion, though, if I got pregnant right now I think the thought would cross my mind.

66. I love eating cookie dough.
--- Okay, seriously. Again who is going to change their mind about cookie dough??

68. Though ironically, I'll watch a girly movie and cry my heart out.
--- Still don't really understand 17 year old Emily's thought process....

69. I enjoy tacos.
--- ENJOY?! LOVE BABY LOVEEE.

70. I really dont think people understand how much I can't stand my vision. And I dont think anyone, except Cindy, understands how much less I can see than they can.
--- This is still true. It's really frustrating to have to explain to everyone that I can't see something. Honestly my life would be easier if people just assumed I couldn't read anything that wasn't 12 inches in front of my face. Also, I wish that people would go a day without their contacts/glasses- because that's my life.

71. I wish people dated more. no one dates, it's either, you're in a relationship or you're not. NO ONE DATES IN THIS TOWN.

--- Well okay, I kind of know where I'm coming from here, but again I don't care anymore!

76. I know everyone gets picked on, but i feel like people pick on me more, which sucks because I'm not that strong of a person.
--- I don't get picked on that much anymore. I don't really see friends who would do that... and I'm not close enough with most of the people in my classes for them to pick on me. But seriously. People were so MEAN to me in high-school. BULLIES!!! Need I bring up the Brittany Tindall, foot in hand prayer circle memory.

77. Some noises REALLY annoy me, and I just get this rage and I have to get up and leave.
--- Still VERY true. These noises include, but are not limited to, chewing, the wistle some people put on their s's, crinkling bags, and sniffling.

78. I hate when I say NO I DONT WANT TO DO SOMETHING and people don't care that i said no. It is so irksome, you don't even know.

--- I feel like I hated this so much that now whenever I say no to someone I give them 1,000 reasons why I am saying no and explain to them why I can't be persuaded another way.

79. I enjoy slurpees.
--- I don't drink things with calories except for coffee and milk!

--- Sure.... 17 year old Emily was rather thoughtful

90. I used to want to be a gymnist.
--- Well obviously my past can't change!

91. I tend to judge others a lot.
--- I think this has only gotten worse with age :P

92. I'm a bit irrational.
--- Hahaha this has DEFINITELY gotten worse with age...

93. Im really bad at poker and black jack.
--- Still true... I only gamble with Zach's money.

94. Sometimes Im very pessimsitc.
--- Eh. Not so much true. I feel like I just get overwhelmed now.

95. I enjoy sleep.
--- True!!!!

96. I feel like I always need to wear a belt.
--- True... weird.

97.I think my eyes are uggly.
--- The color's pretty.

--- I don't even WANT to know.. lord the way I leave the house sometimes...

99. I wish I understood economics.
--- NOPE! I don't even want to think about economics. I hate it! I am not programmed to understand it. I do everything backwards and its too closely related to politics. Leave the economics to the guys in DC (who ironically normally don't have economics degrees). Just LEAVE me out of it.

100. I depend on others way too much.

--- Less true now!

Yeah, so hoppefully you've learned something new. Please comment or something since i spent like an HOUR thinking up 100 things about myself. =) I love ya all!

Thanksgiving blog post?!

This may be a little early, but I had a few minutse (aka about fifty) before my next class begins and since break is about to start I don't feel as though I should be wasting away in the library. I deserve a break- right? Right? Anyway- I found some questions online about Thanksgiving and I thought I'd go ahead and answer them in this post. I'll leave a little blank template below and I'd love it if everyone would answer them for yourselves in a comment (just include your name!)

My Thanksgiving plans this year....
Nothing special that I am aware of. I plan on waking up relatively early (around 7 or so) going on a jog around the neighborhood, an then coming home taking a shower, and getting back in my PJ's to watch a little bit of the Thanksgiving Day Parade. At some point I will probably see Zach for a few minutes but for various reasons we don't actually "do" Thanksgiving together yet- so he'll probably just stop by for a bit and maybe watch an episode of 30 Rock before heading back to his family.

After dinner I'll probably do festive things like google things I want for Christmas and make a list (honestly have NO idea what to ask for....), then perhaps watch a Christmas movie... or more 30 Rock!

My favorite Thanksgiving was....
I'm honestly probably combining a few Thanksgivings into one here, but in my head this was all the same year . I guess I was about 8 or 9 and I remember waking up and going outside and it was probably like 40 degrees out, one of those really traditional "cold" and "crisp" Thanksgivings. I remember roller skating in the driveway (white skates, pink wheels) and waiting for my Grandparents to get to our house. I remember coming inside when we got there- and playing with my beanie babies, and then having dinner. After dinner I seem to remember going to see the lights in Ocean City, and then coming home to play with my beanie babies some more. I know this probably sounds like an incredibly boring Thanksgiving but its the one that I think of whenever I think of Thanksgiving.

My signature Thanksgiving dish....
Oh, I haven't really gotten one yet. I suppose pumpkin pie or Brocoli Caserole as my mom has insister I assist in the preparation of Thanksgiving over the last few years and those are the only things I have any memory of making.

My favorite Thanksgiving food is...
Oh goodness... this is tough. I am going to have to cheat and just name them all because I aboslutely love holiday food. I love brocoli caserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing, twice baked potatoes, and pumpkin pie. Yum!

When I say Thanksgiving, you say.... (free association)
Food!

Thanksgiving is....
A day to be reminded of everything that is wonderful in your life and to be thankful for it, a day to rest and recouperate, a day for family and friends

I am thankful for.....
My family, my fiance, my friends, my job, my home, my dog, my car, my brain, my shoes, my jewelery, my candles, my bed, my books, my passions, my creativity, and laughter (:

Lush Wish List

I don't really have a "Christmas" Wish-List at the moment- I don't really want anything in particular- and if I do, I normally just buy it for myself. Anyway, there is a bath company that intrigues me, and they currently have their Christmas bath products out and words can't begin to describe how much I "theoretically" want them all. (The closest one is in Annapolis, so um... if I were to go and check them out I might not want them, but theoretically, I want these!) The company is called "Lush" cosmetics. So let's get started on the wish list. (:

"Cinders Bath Bomb"
According to the Lush website  the scent of this bath bomb is (according to the Lush page) a spicy cinnamon, orange and almond. What's cute about this little guy is it turns your shade a light yellow-y orange but it also crackles as though you're sitting in front of a fire. This seems like it'd be perfect for one of those first nights of the Holiday season right after Thanksgiving. Perhaps after a hard Cyber Monday of shopping?

If you're interested in this product you can find more information on the Lush web-page here.  If you want to order it but want to see how it works before you order it you can also see a demonstration on YouTube.

"The Boogg"

This guy just really interests me, unfortunately I cannot seem to find an image google so you're going to have to go to the Lush website to check him out! Basically what he is though is a white Snowman bath bomb that was inspired by a Swiss tradition where in every year at Christmas they would building a snowman and fill his head with fireworks. They would then place him over a bonfire and see how long it took for him to melt and therefore set the fireworks off. Apparently the longer they would have to wait, the better their following summer would be. I just found it kind of interesting and I think the bath bomb is kind of neat too Your water will change colors as the head dissolves into the water. Pretty neat huh? At least you got a little history lesson!

 "Christmas Eve Bubble Bar"

In contrast to the first two on the list, this is actually a bubble bar, which means instead of just smelling good and changing the color of my water, it is going to bubble up with lots of bubbles. Now I think I'm just partial to this guy because I feel like how cool is it to have a bubble bar that you can use on Christmas Eve night to relax you before Santa comes. In my head I have the night planned out. Come home from church, eat a dinner of Macoroni and Cheese and Ham with rolls (family Christmas Eve dinner, every year), take a bubble bath with my Christmas Eve bubble bar, and then curl up in my red and white polka dot flannel PJ's and watch "The Santa Claus" while I wait to hear the sleigh bells outside? I don't know I tend to build up experiences but I just think that'd be the perfect Christmas Eve night. (If only I could have snow outside too.. ). But seriously doesn't that sound awesome?

If you want to see this one on the Lush website you can view it here. This is another one that I was able to locate a little demo for on YouTube.

Didya know?

I was just thinking about my "younger" years and figure that there are a lot of things people who haven't known me for like 10 years... might not know. So I thought we'd play "did ya know" version 2010. (: Lets play! Let me know how many you knew...

1. When I was in high school I worked as a camp counselor and teachers aid at a summer camp and then at a program called Horizons.

2. I played the flute from 5th grade through 11th grade. And never seemed to get better at it.

3. (I find this important to let people know since even Zach didn't know!) I have three favorite Christmas songs and I think they fall in different 'genres' of Christmas music... so in no specific order (as they're all first in their respective genre): Carol of the Bells (traditional, not the Trans Siberian Orchestra version, although that one is nice), The First Noel, and Feliz Navidad.

Carol of the Bells

The First Noel

Feliz Navidad (This was Christmas time jam when I was 8...)

4. The most consistent friend I've had in my life I met when I was 7 and lives 2.5 (or 6 if she's at school) hours away. But she's honestly the only person I know who I've ever had so much in common with and whose friendship has survived 14, almost 15 years. Which is strange because we see each other maybe once a year and don't talk on a completely regular basis.

5. When I was little I used to line up all my stuffed animals behind me and lay on top of them when I slept so that in case somebody broke into our house, my 'babies' would be safe. Funny how our idea of treasures and valuables change over time...

6. I played soccer for more than 10 years, and like my flute I was never more than average. Um hello... someone forgot to give me talent in something.. just saying.

7. When I was little and had one of those Fisher Price white radio's with the little red microphones I used to record my own radio shows. Like I'd wake up and go down stairs and do the 'weather report' (incredibly accurately for a six year old... just saying...) and then I'd wait for a good song to come on the real radio record it next, then do like a little talk show.. with myself. Shut up. It was cool.

8. My dream job is to be an accountant at "The Weather Channel" so I can account and still get to hang around all the cool weathermen and women.

9. Pigs are my favorite animal. I feel like we have a lot in common. Pink skin, susceptible to sun burn, I too liked playing in the mud as a piglet, and I squeak when I get overwhelmed or a bit over zealous.

10. My personality is absolutely NOTHING like it was when I was younger. When I was little I was a firecracker and a drama queen. (Okay.. the drama queen part might still be there). I was loud and always getting into things, building things with my legos, hanging out with people, playing outside, running around, making a mess, dressing up, leaving my stuff all over the house, playing in the dirt, wearing t-shirts down to my knees, putting on plays in the living room and leaving crayons and beads scattered all over the house. Little Emily was so much fun! I think she'd probably think Big Emily is pretty *yawn* boring.

Night all!

Things I Like This Week

Um... yeah I love how this blog went from "updates" to just talking about stuff I like. Oh well... I'm dynamic. My likes change a lot!

Boyce Avenue

Again these guys came up in my Pandora earlier this week and sometimes you find someone, and they just have one song and you're like "okay well that was nice but the rest of your stuff stinks" but not with Boyce Avenue. Most of the stuff I find of theirs isn't original- they have a ton of covers but they do such good covers AND they're all of songs I loved in their original form too! The first song I posted is an original and the second is one of my favorite songs that they covered. (: (Because if I've never mentioned this... I really *like* the Goo Goo Dolls too!)

"Harvest" by Yankee Candle

Oh my GOSH. This candle is THE quintessential Autumn Candle. It is EVERYTHING that this season represents. Spice, warmth, sweetness. It's heavenly. I adore, adore, adore the smell. I liken it to walking into a country store the fragrance and spice you get just by walking in the door. Its wonderful. I am a bit disappointed though. I am having a hard time locating more of the tarts. I can find the candle but the candles are pretty pricey so to buy a whole candle is expensive (and bulky). But if you can find this smell at least take a moment to "smell the harvest" you won't regret it.

Coffee
I mean... okay, I always like coffee. But today is National Coffee Day and so I just had to put that I liked coffee in this post. And honestly- I just couldn't think of what else it was that I liked right now other than the two things I already mentioned. So I defaulted to coffee!

Tuesday Tidbits

#1- I think I'm getting a cold? Or my allergies are getting really bad.. but I've been taking Zyrtec everyday for almost a week. This morning I woke up with a really sore throat and my nose has been really stuff all day. Not a fan of this. Momma suggested I take Sudafed but I didn't call her until right before class and I don't want to run out now... so maybe I'll get some tomorrow.

#2- Kind of upset that my nails are already chipping as much as they are... I only got them done last Friday and they're chipping pretty decently.

#3- This weekend Zach and I are going to a Phillies game (I believe I mentioned this previously) but since my test got moved we're going to spend the whole day in Philly going to museums and doing a bit of shopping downtown. Aka I'll look at a lot of stuff and won't be able to pick anything that I like more than anything else so I won't get anything.

#4- I washed my sheets today and I did the cotton sheets in one load, my comforter in another load, and then because I didn't want to do two more loads I did my bed blanket (which is like knit cream color) and my fleece blanket (red), and now my bed blanket is slightly pink. I honestly don't regret it- just feel a tiny bit silly. I'd washed that blanket before I didn't think it would bleed!

#5- I've really been loving my pink grapefruit tictacs... although I might be slightly biased because they are after all... pink !

Happenings

Happy Monday Everyone! Three posts in one week? Woah! I'm getting pretty good at this again. Anyway- I am currently giving myself permission to be lazy for about another 15 minutes or so so I figured that I'd update anyone who cares on my semester/life as of late.

School- I really just don't like this semester. I always feel like there is work that I should be doing but its almost always "reading" which is hard to keep focused on especially when you're reading in advance- because you don't have any idea what half the material means and it doesn't feel completely 'necessary', ya know? Plus- I am a morning person I like to get all my responsibilities out of the way first thing in the morning and then do my work late in the day but this semester is asking me to do the compelte opposite. I don't have a class before noon (except gym, but for real does that even count.. its gym) I just don't like it. I can't get into a good rhythem and I'm always tired because my body just doesn't get what it's supposed to be doing. It doesn't help that I really don't like my Advanced Accounting at all, and the only class I actually 'like like' is tax... so it's just like.. not fun. :/

Work- Work is work. I work Thursday from 8-5pm which is nice because it leaves me about 2 hours to get ready for class (7pm). Although when the time changes I'll probably  have to boogie closer to 4.... because I need daylight to drive haha. And then on Friday's I'm going in anywhere between 10:30 and 12 and then working until 5. It's okay. If you don't know I'm doing the book keeping for one of our clients on those days (I technically go into PKS on Friday but for the past few weeks I've had work carry into Friday so I've just gone there) Anyway- it's fun but I miss the work people- I feel like I work for our client not PKS just because I never go into the office except once a week to throw my t ime in the computer and check my email.

Life- Life is good. This past weekend I went to the wedding for Zach's boss and it was pretty and fun. After that we drove up to Rehoboth in hopes of seeing the Phanatic at the Green Turtle.. unfortunately I grabbed the wrong locations address so we went to the wrong one! Woops. After we had our "snack" we went to the Yankee Candle Store at the outlets (because I have a problem) and then came home. Next weekend we're going to be going to a Phillies v. Mets game on Saturday so that is going to be tons and tons of fun <3 Philly!

Anyway- I've procrastinated long enough I should go to the library and read a little bit before classes this afternoon... I guessssss.

Ooooh! And real quick make sure you check out Dexter over there to the right in the Daily Puppy Widget I have on here. He's a golden doodle, which if you don't know, is my favorite breed of big dogs (:

Things I love Today

Joshua Radin

Apparently this was on Bones- but I have no recollection of what episode it was on. I'm sure it was in season five sometime- but I have no idea when! I do love it though- it's beautiful. <3

The Gieco Pig Commercial

Oh my god- I literally have no idea when I last laughed so genuinely, so much.

The Eli Young Band

God I love this song- I owe so much thanks to Pandora for delivering the great music I have in my life to my life. This song might be my favorite but I also really like "So Close Now" and "Oklahoma Girl". I really wish they performed on the East Coast- no such luck!

Matt Schuab

Okay,... first of all, lets all look at that nice looking bicep... lots to like about him. But today, we're liking that he earned me 48 fantasy points as he got 497 passing yards in the game against the Redskins. Sure- I'm bummed that my Redskins lost, but the quarterback for the Sweetsville Sparkling Roses did FABULOUS. And I mean again, do I need to reiterate how good looking his biceps are?!  Definitely loving Matty-boy today.

My Nails: Glove You So Much

The only thing I don't like is that when I got them done I didn't clip them too short
first- which means I'm chipping them faster. But anyway- this color is "Glove You So Much" from OPI's Christmas 2009 Collection. So, so, so, so pretty! It matched the shoes I wore to the wedding I went to yesterday PERFECTLY!!!

My Tart Warmer

Isn't it pretty? Plus when I want a new smell I can just buy a $2 tart instead of having to buy a whole new candle! How exciting?!

Things I'm Loving

I know! I've been so MIA the past few months it's insane but yesterday my friend Jamie asked me if I still blogged and I was like oh my gosh I LOVED writing silly posts about the things I was madly in love with- so I think I'm going to try being better about it! Let's start with some things that I have been loving the past few months! Pictures will be included as always because I love blogs with pictures!

The scent Dark Kiss by Bath and Body Works

Oh my gosh- words cannot explain how in love I am with this scent. I own the body wash, the body lotion, the body mist, and as of today the bubble bath and I am just in love. It's a berry, plum scent with a hint of vanilla and I just love it. It's perfect for fall and really makes me think of getting a cup of coffee and curling up with a good book by a fire, or of going for a walk in a hoodie on a really cool fall night. I just love this smell- words can't explain it.

I've never been a bath and body works girl- but I've been getting obsessed lately because I can always manager to get such great deals and bargains. My friend Emma sent me a coupon through email the other day that was one free 'signature body item' free with any $10 purchase. So I got my bubble bath- which retailed at $12 free when I bought two 4ox candles (for $10 total). I just feel like that's a really good deal. I mean normally with coupons like that you have to buy the more expensive thing and then you can get the cheaper item for free- but that's never how it is with them- at least at the local location they're always trying to help you get the best deal.

Candles

I've also really been loving candles lately- I've had to branch out from my favorite Yankee Candles due to their growing astronominal prices- but I love candles all the same. I'm interested to see how the ones from bath and body works are and if they're fragrent. I got one in "Frosted Cranberries" and another in "Spiced Apple" which is lovely because now I have some very autumnal scents- which pleases me quite a bit. I don't know they're just something very soothing about having a candle flicker and make your room smell pretty.

I'll definitely let you know how the bath and body works candles work out for me if you're interested! (:

Tax Accounting

If you don't know I'm taking four accounting classes this semester- and most of them I really don't like. I just feel as though they're boring and I just don't like the material we're covering. As such, I've been trying to find one class that I actually do like, and I think it's tax accounting. It's very much formulas based which most other accounting isn't, and it's interesting to dream up all the possibilties and figure out if you can get a deduction for them.

For example, the other day in class my professor was saying that you can claim as a dependant your friend Bob if he sits on your couch all year eating your food and not having a job. Interestingly though, if instead of Bob you had your girlfriend Jenny living with you doing the same thing- you could not claim her as a dependant. Later we got talking about how although some states allow same-sex marriage and you could file as married on your state tax return, since the federal government doesn't recognize it, you couldn't file as married on your joint return. SO being the inquisitive person I am I said "Using that logic then, since the Federal Government doesn't reognize the same sex person as your husband/wife could you then claim your 'more than friend' Bob whose lived on your couch all year as a dependant" hahaha. I am soooo getting audited this year

This song

Okay- it doesn't apply to my life at all but I like the melody a lot and Colbie has such a wonderful voice that I end up falling in love with almost every single one of her songs for at least a few weeks

MAC Lip-Product Wishlist

So... if you're a guy this probably isn't for you. But I thought I'd make this blog to do a wishlist for all my most wanted MAC lip products. Yes- they can be a little pricey, buttt oh well. It's a wishlist for a reason!

All images are googled- don't own any of them. Cause I mean... clearly if I did I'd own the lip products and wouldn't be wishlisting them!

Sunday Funday

Helllllo. Happy Sunday Funday (:

I'm going to try and make a concentrated effort to may more attention to my lovely bloggity blog. So.. here are some thoughts.

#1- I got my new little dresser thing from Target yesterday. Kind of on impulse but I knew I was going to get it, and I didn't want to wait forever and then have them run out of the little cube/baskets to put in it! (:
It doesn't really match my room at home, but it matches my apartment furniture better and it kind of (sort of) matches the colors in my bedding and stuff that I use there. As you can kind of see (center row, center bin) I've used it to store a lot of my gym clothes, I have two of them filled up with t-shirts (I have a LOT of t-shirts) and then one with pj pants, another with camis, and then one for running shorts, one for socks, and then a few miscellaneous things in them as well.

Because I got that guy though I now have an extra sterlite thing of drawers that I won't be using. If you know anyone who could use them, let me know! I will let you know the wheels aren't the best working so I might recommend just pulling them off all together. But it has three large drawers and four smaller ones. So if you think you could use it, get up with me, and I'll try and work out a time to meet up with you and give it to you (:

#2- Zach and I went up to a National's game on Friday and after battling with the city for over an hour we finally found a metro and were able to get to the stadium. I returned home safely and was telling my Dad about their stadiums really expensive parking, and how we decided to take the metro into the stadium, and I mentioned we parked in Anacostia and took it into Navy Yard. I was then told (by him) that apparently we parked in the worst and probably one of the most dangerous parts of the city. Awessommmme. Zach took great pride in knowing that he can scare of the toughest gangsters in DC though. Anyway here are a few pictures from the game...
View of the scoreboard from our seats (: Look at how ginormous their screen is!

I thought this was kind of funny... its like that whole side of the stadium looks pretty full... and then there are just like three sections that are completely empty. :P
Zach and us wearing Phillies shirts at a "National's" game. (I put "National's" in quotes because to be honest... pretty sure there were wayyyy more Phillies fans than Nat's fans at the game :P)

#3 - Lately I've been loving non-traditional nail colors. Earlier this summer I purchased Rimmel's "Steel Gray" and I really love the color. At first I thought it looked awful with my complexion but it grew on me quickly (and I swear it got darker!)
Obviously this is a picture I got off line but I wanted to show it to you, and I'm feeling lazy. I also must say the formula of this brand (I also have it in Red Stiletto) is really nice. I use a top coat and a base coat and I barely have any issues with it chipping. Plus it goes on thicker than most so it doesn't look too streaky.

Also, Zach decided he needed to buy me a present so this past Friday before the National's game I got Revlon's "Steel her Heart" which is a darker more blue gray color and I put some on my thumb last night to see if I wanted to paint my nails that color this week (I narrow it down to two colors than decide which one I want by painting my thumb :P) and I really like it.
Again- this picture isn't mine but I wanted to show you the color. This is a bit thinner (and not as great a formula) as Rimmel's Steel Gray but I still really love the color. I think I like these colors because they're not "traditional" but they still feel work appropriate. (: Plus I think they'll be really pretty fall colors!
