Through the Years

Please let me know what you think, if you aren't that interested in any more let me know!!

So exciting..

I absolutely adore school supply shopping, and I used to have this little black organizer on my desk that held my pens/pencils/sticky notes, ect. However, it was getting a little "too full", so I went over to Wal-Mart and got a 3-Drawer 8 1/2 by 11 little "dresser" thing. I was so excited that I had to take pictures and share them with you all. (I know, it's boring, I'm the only person interested!)

The whole she-bang! And by the way, the oyster colored thing on top is a jewelry case, NOT more school supplies!

Pencils/Pens/High-Lighters :P

Note pads, post-its, note cards, push pins, and my camera battery charger :P

Mini-stapler, memory cards, calculaters, rubber bands, tape, portable hard drive and some random plugs :P

I know I know, I have a problem, but I just loveee school/office supplies!

Precious!

If you're viewing this on Friday, please check out the adorable "Puppy of the Day" on the right portion of your screen. Ah, what a cute little puppy. (Not that they all aren't adorable, but you know). :o) Sorry, I saw the little cutie and I couldn't resist a second update!

Friday Thoughts

Sorry lovelies! I know I didn't do any blogging yesterday, but I was super sleepy, really into Bones, and needed to pack! So, now that I'm 75% settled into my apartment again, I'm ready to blog! :o)

Thought #1- I cleaned my my bathroom, my closet, all my desk drawers, and everything out today. I reorganized and refolded everything. It has recently occured to me that not everyone is as "tidy" as I am. But, I seriously don't understand how these people live. Like how do you just let nasty dirt/dust accumulate?! Ugh drives me crazy!! I still need to vaccuum a declutter a little more.. but if I want to be showered/ready by 6:30 when Zach get's me AND get a blog in, I've gotta give up for the day! :P If anyone is interested in seeing my immaculate apt. please feel free to request pictures :P.

Thought #2- Bex, Amy, and I all decided to get a magazine subscription together (who do I owe money??) which would "force" us to get together once a month to read the magazines and chat. Bex says we have four magazines already! (We got back issues apparently :P). So I'm pretty excited for that, and hope we find a few minutes to get together to do that this weekend.

Thought #3- I am in complete denail that the semester starts on Monday. I am just going to operate under the belief that if I deny it long enough it won't come!

Thought #4- I almost died at the gym today. Okay, okay, okay. I probably wasn't actually going to die.. but I was doing 30 second sprints (moving 8.5 mph) and then 30 second walks (about 5-6 mph) on the treadmill. I pushed really hard on the last "sprint"  and I seriously think my heart was about to burst through my chest.

Thought #5- My room-mate C made vodka gummy bears, and I could seriously eat the entire bin. She keeps offering them to me (I have a weak spot for candy!) and forgetting they have vodka in them. Oops.

Thought #6- I finally threw out a pair of jeans. I haven't done that in like 2 years because last time I got on a "cleaning spree" I threw away all but like 4 pairs and didn't know what to do.

Thought #7- My mom gave me this purple pen at some point towards the end of the semester, and I'm writing my grocery/wal-mart list (these are two seperate trips mind you) in it, and I swear it makes my mood 10 times better.

Thought #8- I keep wanting to write a blog about this episode of Bones that I saw the other day, but I don't have time. And I'm not even sure entirely what I want to say about it. I just want to comment on it, because it was so warped, but I could definitely see it happening. Hum. I will get on that tomorrow. I sa-ware.

Thought #9- I have completely abandoend my farm on farmville, I'm sure I might go back to it at some point, but for now.. It's just too much work. Obviously I'm not stressed yet. :P

Thought #10- I really need to take a shower before I go do something with Z later, but I don't want to shower, because I just got my shower all pretty and clean. I dont want to get toe prints and water spots on it :(.

Friend Spotlight Of The Month

So, in trying to figure out what to blog about, my friend Hannah suggest I blog about her. Obviously, she probably intended this as a joke, but I thought I'd blog about her anyway. :o)

I met Hannah when I was in 7th grade. She was my friend Carly's "little cousin" and  so I mainly only ever saw her in the halls when Carly would yell "Han-nuhhhh" like all 12 year girls insist on doing when they see someone they know in the halls. (Ladies, don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about!)

Anyway, during 8th grade I got to know Hannh because she opted to do "Marching Band" that year. Our friendship basically consisted of mindless conversation on AIM, and giggling about inside jokes during band practice.

Throughout high school we were friends but we didn't see eachother a whole lot, outside of things like SGA. The same idea has carried on throughout college, we bump into each other randomly and talk, and giggle, and drool over cute Youtube boys (Yes, I know, nothing has changed since we were 11/12, I'm aware).

I'm sure, though, that if you're still reading this blog, you care about more than just how we know each other and what our friendship consists of,... you want to know some things about Hannah. Let's begin shall we? Hannah is the msot adorable person I have possibly ever met. She always has on the most adorable outfits and I don't think I've ever even seen a hair out of place on her head. (Not to mention, I'm pretty sure she has the world's most killer shoe collection). She loves reading (for fun) and curling up with her boys, my favorite is Nubbi.

Hannah is one of the sweetest people that I've ever met. And what makes that statement even more impressive, is that she's sweet, but she still stands up for what she believes in. She'll tell you what she thinks of baseball, politics, the way you're acting,.. etc and somehow she still maintains a sweet presence. (This is a skill I'm working on, at this point I still kind of give off "Bratty" not "Sweet", but don't worry, it's coming!!)

And finally, if I had to pick just a few words to describe things that Hannah loves, I would pick the following: family, friends, baseball, music, politics, open-mindedness, kitties, books, the british, and naturally, me! :)

Flower Bouquets that I love

I love looking at all the fancy bouquets on flourist websites. I never expect to get any of these bouquets, because they are so expensive (especially when you consider the "shipping" costs!) But I thought I'd share some of the ones that I think are adorable! :o) These actually are in order from most favorite to least favorite, but I love them all!!

#1

These are my absolute favorite. I love the colorfullness of the roses, and the little sweethearts below it. This is so colorful and cheerful and beautiful. I love it!!

#2

I just think that this one is really creative. I love the little margarita glasses, and the pinkness of it all. It is so girly and pretty. Love it!

#3

I love the yellow in this bouquet. It's so happy. It'd be perfect for summer! (Or a FREEZING winter day, to remind you of summer).

#4

This is a "plum" version of the above bouquet, and I jsut think this is gorgeous. I love all the shades of purple, and I think it'd be a really pretty bouquet to get. The lemon one was fun, but this is just so gorgeous. :)

#5

All the other bouquets were really fun, and happy, but I think this one is really sweet and romantic. But, it's not that traditional bouquet of roses. I love that it's in the little silver cup and that they mix in the white flowers with the red. This looks like it'd be PERFECT for a romantic Valentine's Day :)

If I had to be a celebrity...

If I had to be a celebrity, I think I'd definitely want to be one of the following people. :) Who would you want to be??  (Like always, these are in no particular order!)

#1 Julia Roberts

#2 Renee Zellweger

#3 Carrie Underwood

#4 Bethany Joy Lenz

#5 Anne Hathaway

Favorite Chick Flick's of All Time

Some people may argue that some of these aren't exactly chick-flick's but for the purposes of this blog, I'm considering them all to be! (These aren't in any specific order!)

Favorite Chick Flick's

#1 You've Got Mail
"Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms." - Joe Fox

#2 Pretty Woman
"I got red, I got green, I got yellow... I'm out of purple, but I do have one Gold Circle coin left... the condom of champions... the one and only... nothin' is gettin' through this sucker. Whaddya say, hmm? "- Vivian

#3 Notting Hill
"After all... I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her. " - Anna Scott

#4 The Holiday
"I understand feeling as small and as insignificant as humanly possible. And how it can actually ache in places you didn't know you had inside you. And it doesn't matter how many new haircuts you get, or gyms you join, or how many glasses of chardonnay you drink with your girlfriends... you still go to bed every night going over every detail and wonder what you did wrong or how you could have misunderstood. And how in the hell for that brief moment you could think that you were that happy. And sometimes you can even convince yourself that he'll see the light and show up at your door. And after all that, however long all that may be, you'll go somewhere new. And you'll meet people who make you feel worthwhile again. And little pieces of your soul will finally come back. And all that fuzzy stuff, those years of your life that you wasted, that will eventually begin to fade. " -Iris

#5 Love Actually
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion... love actually is all around. "- Prime Minister

#6 One Fine Day
"Maggie, when you grow up and are incredibly beautiful and intelligent and possess a certain sweetness that's... that's like a distant promise to the brave, to the worthy, could you please not beat to a pulp every miserable bastard that comes your way simply because you can? Could you not do that? "- Jack

#7 Bridget Jone's Diary
"Resolution #1: uggg - will obviously lose 20 lbs. #2: always put last night's panties in the laundry basket. Equally important: will find nice sensible boyfriend and stop forming romantic attachments to any of the following: alcoholics, workoholics, sexaholics, commitment-phobics, peeping toms, megalomaniacs, emotional fuckwits, or perverts. Will especially stop fantasizing about a particular person who embodies all these things. " - Bridget

#8 My Best Friend's Wedding
"Suddenly, a familiar song. And, you're off your chair in one, exquisite movement... wondering, searching, sniffing the wind like a dapple deer. Has God heard your little prayer? Will Cinderella dance again? And then, suddenly, the crowds part and there he is: sleek, stylish... radiant with charisma. Bizarrely, he's on the telephone. But then, so are you. And then he comes towards you... the moves of a jungle cat. Although you quite correctly sense that he is... gay... like most devastatingly handsome single men of his age are, you think... what the hell. Life goes on. Maybe there won't be marriage... maybe there won't be sex... but, by God, there'll be dancing. "- George

#9 As Good As It Gets
"I might be the only person on the face of the earth that knows you're the greatest woman on earth. I might be the only one who appreciates how amazing you are in every single thing that you do, and how you are with Spencer, "Spence," and in every single thought that you have, and how you say what you mean, and how you almost always mean something that's all about being straight and good. I think most people miss that about you, and I watch them, wondering how they can watch you bring their food, and clear their tables and never get that they just met the greatest woman alive. And the fact that I get it makes me feel good, about me. " - Melvin

#10 Hitch
"Basic Principles - no woman wakes up saying "God, I hope I don't get swept off my feet today!" Now, she might say "This is a really bad time for me," or something like "I just need some space," or my personal favorite "I'm really into my career right now." You believe that? Neither does she. You know why? 'Cause she's lying to you, that's why. You understand me? Lying! It's not a bad time for her. She doesn't need any space. And she may be into her career, but what she's really saying is "Uh, get away from me now," or possibly "Try harder, stupid," but which one is it? 60% of all human communication is nonverbal, body language; 30% is your tone, so that means 90% of what you're saying ain't coming out of your mouth. Of course she's going to lie to you! She's a nice person! She doesn't want to hurt your feelings! What else she going to say? She doesn't even know you... yet. Luckily, the fact is that just like the rest of us, even a beautiful woman doesn't know what she wants until she sees it, and that's where I come in. My job is to open her eyes. Basic Principles - no matter what, no matter when, no matter who... any man has a chance to sweep any woman off her feet; he just needs the right broom. " - Hitch

#11 Serendipity
"You don't have to understand. You just have to have faith. "- Sara
"Faith in what?" - Jonathan
"Destiny"- Sara
#12 How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
"I'm taking the love fern with me!" - Andie

#13 Runaway Bride
"Look, I guarantee there'll be tough times. I guarantee that at some point, one or both of us is gonna want to get out of this thing. But I also guarantee that if I don't ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for the rest of my life, because I know, in my heart, you're the only one for me. " Ike Grahm

#14 Sweet Home Alabama
"You're the first boy I ever kissed, Jake, and I want you to be the last" -Melanie

#15 10 Things I Hate About You
"I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair. I hate the way you drive my car. I hate it when you stare. I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind. I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme. I hate it, I hate the way you're always right. I hate it when you lie. I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry. I hate it when you're not around, and the fact that you didn't call. But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all. "- Kat

Least Favorite "Chick Flicks"

#1 50 First Dates

#2 The Notebook

#3 Pride and Prejudice

#4 He's Just Not That Into You

#5 The Princess Bride

Thoughts

#1 I kind of want to get some reddish highlights again. However, I don't really want to spend like $50 to get them. It just doesn't seem logical.

#2 Tonight I had a "Bad for you coffee" (White Chocolate Mocha) and it was so delicious. I haven't had one in probably six or seven months.

#3 I'm on season 4 of Bones and so incredibly excited. Getting so close to being all caught up. Side note: I always think that Bones' makeup is really pretty. I wish I could pull her look off.

#4 I went into BBB earlier and saw that they are putting the comforter I bought in summer 08 on clearance. This makes me really sad because I love my comforter and it's a really specific style (it's suade on one side and suede on another) and I don't think they're getting any more like it :(

#5 I have an unnatural sentimental attachment to candy hearts. I think it's because when I was little my parents always got them for me for valentines day. Also, my mom used to always put them on my birthday cupcakes and stuff (since my birthday is so close to Valentine's Day).

#6 I really like Valentine's Day. And it's not because I'm in a relationship and have someone to spend it with. But, it's a day that truly embraces all the stuff I like. I love chick flick movies. I love pink. I love girly stuff. I'm not sure :o) I just really like the holiday. It reminds me of being little and giving Valentine's out in class. :P

#7 The only reason I am even mildly okay with the semester starting again is because it means I get to buy school supplies. I know, my life is so pathetic.

#8 I really want to go ice skating.

#9 That song that goes "Ayyy, must be the money!" is currently playing on Kiss 105.5 and I can't help but remember summer in middle school. Gym shorts, t-shirts, pony tails, and swimming in Lauren's pool all afternoon and night. I'm surprised my hair didn't fall off from all the chlorine damage.

#10 I really need new gym apparal. But I just cannot understand the outrageous prices they charge for them. I was looking at a pair of Nike shorts the other day in Dick's and they were $55. And all I could think is that I'd be paying $55 dollars to buy a pair of shorts that no one I knew would ever see me wear, AND that all I would do is sweat in. Why, why, why would anyone pay that much for clothes they're jsut going to sweat in!?

What's up Em?

I cannot believe that it was one month ago EXACTLY, that the semester ended. Sadly, that means it's getting ready to start back up again, and I am increasingly dreading that. However, for anyone whose read my "Spring Semester Goals" you'll see that I'm going to try and make it a better semester than the fall semester!

Anyway, here's what's up with me this week. Prepare to be jealous of my incredibly boring life. This week I'll be working Tuesday through Thursday for the most part of the day. Tomorrow I am going to get up super early and drag my butt to the gym. I plan on doing the elyptical for 30 mins plus five cool down and then the bike for 15 plus three cool down. Which means, that I need just under an hour of time at the gym. So, if I want to be at work by 9, I should probably get to the gym around six thirty, which means I need to be up around 6:10. Ohhh yuck! But I can do it! Anyway, I'm going to do that everyday this week I hope, just to get into the swing of going to the gym early in the morning again, because I need to be in that mindset for the semester.

Friday morning I'm going to bring all my stuff back to my apartment and drop it off, and then head over to work around 9 or so. I'll work probably until 3 or 3:30 and then come back to my apartment to unpack. Hopefully my mommy and daddy will take me out to dinner one last time that night. Then Saturday I'll go grocery shopping and load up on the semester essentials while I'm out. (Aka highlighters, pens, pencils, notecards). Then I plan on spending Saturday doing a nice long workout at the gym, and cleaning the apartment REALLY well before the semester starts. (I get really OCD at the beginning of the semester). Once I've done that I think Z will come over and we'll have one last final real date night, before the semester, and inevitably the baseball season start. I know I can still have date nights during the semester, and during the season, but during the semester even on date nights I can't get my mind off of what I'm supposed to be doing in my studying and stuff. It's awful.

Anyway, I hope to try and keep up with my blog during the semester. But since no one besides me really seems attached to this, I could really see it falling to the wayside.

I am thinking of doing a video series called "Through the Years". It's on youtube, and the idea is that for each year of your schooling you do a video blog talking about the things that happened that year, who your friends were, what was going on in the world, etc. Let me know if you'd be interested.

Anyway, that's all for now. I'm going to go watch some more bones and snuggle into bed for the night.

xoxo
