#1- Oh man, oh man, oh MAN! I wore flip flops this morning because I had 9 minutes to get ready and couldn't be bothered to figure out what shoes to really wear. I am seriously regretting that decision!
#2- I'm pretty sure that I never mentioned this on here... but I got an A on my intermediate exam that I took last Monday and I was pretty relieved. Thank Gah! I was so worried that I'd have to drop the class! And I would have just felt bad and worried I was letting my boss at my internship down.
#3- I love sending thank you notes! Especially to women! Why women, you ask? Well- it's simple. I feel bad sending a man a pretty stationaried flowery Thank you note- so for men I just use the my white and silver "THANK YOU" on the outside, thank you notes. But I love my ever-growing collection of possible cards for women!
#4- I'm not so sure what's going on for the roomie situation next year. I hate having to think about this stuff haha. I wish I could find someone who wanted exactly what I wanted, where I wanted, and didn't have to worry about price. It's not that I'm generally an unwilling to compromise person- but in this situation it's really just easier for me to stay where I am already.
#5- Allllll my classes except gym happen after 12PM next semester, and on T/TH I do not have class until 7PM. I am not okay with this. I am going to miss BONES!!! :( Maybe they'll movie it to a Monday or Wednesday night???
#6- I'm in the process of adding adsense to my blogger account. I'm kind of worried about the tax ramifications- but it's not going to change my income bracket- I just don't know like what line to include it on next year, or if they send you like a W2 or what.
#7- I painted my nails "Crushed" last night by Sally Hansen- and its a pretty deep orangey red and I'm in lurve (I'll post a picture later today.. currently I'm typing this in the few minutes I have to spare!). Anyway it's sooo perdy and turned out a little darker than I expected so I would even feel comfortable wearing it to work or something this summer!
#8- Blah- school is a pain. Why is it always so much work? I've outline everything I want to get done each day for the next 2 weeks. I hope it slows done just a smidge after that. :/
#9- It's almost Phillies time <3. I love me the Phanatic.
#10- I have so many places and friends I want to visit this summer, and I feel like they're all kind of over the East Coast at this point. Not being able to drive long distances (because you can't read road signs on interstates :( ) is a realllll big problem though. Maybe everyone will just all come to visit me??? :) :) Pretty please? :)

Wednesday Thoughts
Hello, helo, hello everyone. I have a few minutes to write some thoughts down so I thought I would. :) I miss my blogging but the semester just keeps piling more work on top of me and my weekends seem to be so filled with things (not the least of which includes some good ol' fashioned being lazy) that I never really get around to it. I can't believe that its been almost a week again.. I need to write this wrong. So run my mouth I will, at least for a few more minutes :)
#1- Zach brought my an iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts earlier and it is so amazing. (I am paying him back I insist) But as I was walking to school this morning I needed one. It's just an iced coffee kind of day. So he ssaid he'd bring me one, and he did, and he is fabulous :).
#2- Yesterday my glasses came in so I went to pick them up and it's seriously amazing to me how much I wasn't seeing. These only get my vision up to 20/70 distance and 20/40 up close (which is prety good for the upclose thing) so I'm just fascinated that if this is what I can see at 20/70 what are people with 20/20 or 20/15 seeing??? I mean seriously... everything is so much more textured than I realized. :P
#3- This coming Saturday I am helping my sister move in Richmond with my mom, dad, and Zach. It's going to be a lonnnnng day. Like I said- this is why I don't get around to blogging as much anymore!
#4- My feet hurt so bad right now. I'm not sure why- I think my running shoes are on their last leg. Thankfully the Easter Bunny promised me he'd look into getting me some new ones. :) Yay!
#5- Shadowing last Friday was actually a lot of fun. I really liked the people I met, and I even kind of have an accounting twin over there. Well- not that we both do accounting the same way- but with life style stuff.l For example- both of us considered parellel parking a highly over rated skill and think that it's unnecessary to learn, and that if we ever have to do it, we'll just get someone to park our cars for us. Additionally- we both consider meals, "meals" only when they involve meat. (Excluding pizza, but it's MORE of a meal when meat is involved).
#6- The accounting test on Monday could have gone better. It could have gone worse, but I feel like I just made some mistakes that were stupid. I had a dream last night that I got a 71% on it. And yeah that's not AWFUL... but I'd really hope I do better than that because I studied essentially all of my spring break.
#7- I took the most ridiculous short answer test yesterday in my Accounting Information Systems class. It was seriously 10 shrot answers, and one of the questions I didn't even know what it was ASKING me. I've never felt like I was BSing so much on a test, and I've never NOT known what a question wanted. So basically I just wrote him a note below the problem explaining that I wasn't really sure what he wanted from us, and that I apologized because I'm always prepared for tests, but I really just have no idea what he wanted me to do for this question, and I left him all the information I did know on the subject matter (payroll taxes).
#8- I have a coral cami and a light yellow sweater on and flip flops today. It's sprinnnnng.
#9- I was just a few minutes ago doing some leisurely wikipedia reading on Revlon and I really find the company very interesting. It was created during the Gread Depression, and I always find the companies that survive the Great Depression interesting, but there were just so many other little things. I think the traditional makeup companies (not the new ones) are very interesting to learn about from a business stand point. Why? Becuase they really were pioneers at their time of creation, and creating a cosmetics company in the 1930's where the primary market was women (who had only JUST gotten the right to vote) fascinates me. I think it was the start of something pretty interesting in the world. As dumb as it sounds I'm really interested in doing more lesiurely research on cosmetic companies
#10- I got my hair cut over spring break and I'm just still not okay with it. I think it either needs more dimension (aka better cut layers) or to be shorter. It just feels puffy right now. I don't know- maybe that's weird. I just normally find hair cuts satisfying and this one isn't doing the job.

Monday Thoughts
#1- I know, I know, I know, it's been nearly a week since I've written a blog. Let me explain... last week I was EXHAUSTED between school, and trying to get ready for the 10 miler that I just didn't have it in me. I had group meeting after group meeting, I was trying to hit the gym, I was just POOPED! Sorry I didn't blog... :) I'm sure I was missed.
#2- Wootie-woo-woo! I finished my first ever 10 Miler!!! And I placed in my age bracket. I ran in an hour and 37 miles.. which works out to having under 10 minute miles the whole time. It's nothing super spectacular but it's still pretty good for my first one! I wasn't even doing the race to 'race' I really just wanted to finish in the under 2 hours time bracket.. but I finished 3rd in the Females 20-24 age category! Now before you get all WOW, THAT'S AWESOME! on me,... I have to confess.. they only published the results in the paper, and I'm not exactly sure how many people were IN my age bracket... but I'm gonna hope for at least 4 so I feel like I actually 'won' and didn't default into a winning spae. Either way it was awesome. I might do a seperate blog later all about the event.... because I don't want to ramble on too much about it here!
#3- Speaking of running 10 miles twice in less than 1 week... I have a painful little blister on my foot.... Easter Bunny might be bringing me some new running shoes for Easter. (Probably becuase the Easter Bunny knows I'm too cheap to be responsible and buy them for myself!)
#4- Spring break will officially be here in less than 96 hours. Not as if I'm counting....
#5- I've decided that I am only taking my intermediate class to pass it. I work hard, I really do but I think I am putting undue stress on myself in aiming to get an A or B in the class. I still plan on working hard, but aiming for an A and wanting to cry every time I do badly on a quiz, or don't get a concept is really just too much 'extra' stress. I'm sure the people who I'm interning with this summer would prefer I do excellent in it.. but I've done great in every other accounting class... and my neighbor whose an accountant for Perdue Farms got a C in Intermediate and has been doing quite fine for himself for years. So I think I'm just letting bygones be bygones and aiming just to get through the class at this point.
#6- I painted my nails "Blue me Away" by Sally Hansen last night and they are literally robins eggs blue. It's so not me... but I think they're kind of fun. I don't have any presentations this week, so I think I can get away with it. :) Why not have fun while I can, eh?
#7 I'm having trouble accumulating a 'full load' of classes next semester... I can only seem to find classes for 12 credits becasue all my classes are offered at night.. and they're all on top of each other. I might have to see if I can take Auditing... even though I really wanted to wait on that.
#8- Secret Life is on tonight- I'm readyyy!
#9- Our grades for my Ops. Management test should go up today... I hope they do. I really want to know how I did. Speaking of "how I did" I got my management debate grade back from Friday. We got a 93 HOLLA!
#10 I really want a thick juicy steak. Like a nice one. With potatoes and brocoli. And a diet pepsi. Mmm. Oh man. That'd be heaven!

Long week ahead of me...
So here are some Monday thoughts
#1- During cases in management both sides (yes/no) of the arguement hand out handouts. That's fine. I know why they do it, but we're not going to ever be tested on the material in the debates so after class I don't really know what to do with the handouts that they gave me... I feel wasteful just throwing it away, or even recycling, because half the time I only even glance at it.
#2- This is going to be a really, really long week. Not only is it the first time we've had a full week of classes since week one (it's now week four), but I just have a ton going on. I have a group meeting for my management debate at 9PM tomorrow night (I knowwww that's normally my bed-time), I have a solo requirement due for BAM, quizes and such, and just blah, so much!
#3- There is wayyyyy too much ice on the ground for me to have to be dressed nice today. I've almost slipped about 10 times. That's not an exageration unfortunately.
#4- I hate not seeing my fiance. It's the pits. I know I shouldn't complain because other people are in relationships with people that they only see once a month, on the weekend... but that jsut doesn't work for me. For example, today we'll be on the same campus all day and not be able to see each other but for the 2 minute drive from campus to my apartment when he takes me home.
#5- My goal is to have 25 blog followers by the end of the semester. I know that sounds easy considering I already have 15, and that I always post the link on my facebook and twitter, but I just don't have many followers. I know people come and read it thanks to my lovely counter, butttt that's about all I know. So semester goal- have 25 followers!!
Alright I normally do 10 of these but I have to go get work done, and I'm kind of grumpy so this is really no fun to read anyway. Alright, onto valueing investments. (I know how envious you all are).
Oh! One positive thing! :) I got my business law test grade and I got a 96%, HOLLA! :)

Major Stress
Pun intended.
Has it ever happened to anyone else that they sit down and think about their major, or their career path in life, and realize that they don't even like it? I've been having that problem a lot lately. And when I'm honest with myself, I have to wonder if anyone in the accounting field ever liked being in school for it. Of the business majors, we're the most demanding. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact. While every other business major requires 15-18 credits worth of upper level, major specific, courses the accounting degree requires 33. Yes, I know, that's almost twice as many.
It's not even that it's just a demanding amount of courses that we have to take, it's the faculty and staff. The upper-level faculty and staff take themselves so seriously, and maybe they've earned it, but when every member of the accounting staff sits there and tells your horror stories about how hard this is, and how hard that is, and about how you'll have your ass handed to you if you make even the smallest mistake, it's intimidating. Not that they shouldn't be honest with you, but if you're going to be honest, be honest about everything. Clearly there must be osmething pleasent about the profession or you wouldn't have entered it to begin with.
It's just so stressful. As I've mentioned a bajillion times before, the Intermediate II class (which, by the way, is harder than advanced, GO FIGURE) I'm in this semester is really demanding. And I feel like it's not a class I can work hard and get ahead in, sot hat I can sit back and have a full day off from thinking about accounting. I just feel like I have to constantly be reading this, or typing up journal entires for that, and while I am a hard worker, I also really need time to just think about other things. And I feel like that is completely natural. However, I'm not sure if it's the way my group works on things but I feel like I'm forced to be ontop of everything and everyone. I don't like it.
Then on top of it being demanding it's not really particularly interesting. I loved my Cost Accounting class last semester because it felt like accounting that was useful to everyone. Everyone needs to know when something is unprofitable, and if getting rid of it is going to harm them more than they would expect. It's in my opinion "The Business Owner's Accounting" but the Financial and Tax accounting, it's taking care of details. It's making sure that the right amount of "money" is put in one place or another. And it gets complicated.... And sometimes you just feel like you know nothing because there are things that you just can't think to ask yourself about a situation. So then you've done everything wrong.
It's just stressful. I really question whether I'm doing the right thing majoring in this. I love working with money and finding out the best way to create something out of nothing (interest), and business ownership. And I really do think that it's one of the best fields to go into if you ever want to own a business, because it forces you to know everything about how businesses work. But at the end of the day, I really don't feel like I like the classes. I mean, you can't really make accounting fun, you can't make it interesting.
I really don't know anymore. I am incredibly envious of people who get to take electives, and classes simply because they're interested in them.

Friday Thoughts
#1- I wore a pair of tan wedges today that I got from Target this past fall. I love them, but they're an awkward color that doesn't match much. Also, they inconsistently give me blisters. Apparently today is one of those day they give me blisters. Guess I'll be putting on my crocs when I get home.
#2- I hate whiney bloggers and people who post their whole lives "drama" on faceook. But there is someone in my life who no matter what they do just upsets me in some way lately.
#3- I am in such a bummed out mood today that all I want to do is go to bed when I get home. but I have so much stuff to do this weekend that I can't really afford to give myself a stress free day. Awesome. I can't wait for this semester to be over. I wasn't ready to come back for hte Fall semester after 3 months off, so I'm certainly not ready for this one after only one month off.
#4- Part of my stress is that I'm afraid there are things I just won't think to do for my BAM assignment. It's supposed to simulate a real life accountants work, and I'm just afraid there will be stuff that I don't remember to do. Or things I just don't know how to do. I am really good at doing well on tests... but I just feel like when it comes to applying things I couldn't possibly ever succeed in the real world. Gee- I hope that my internship boss doesn't see this. I'm sure he'd be regretting his decision to take me as an intern.
#5- I have on a coral color sweater today, which I picked out because bright colors are supposed to make you happy. However, I don't think it's working. Whoever created this whole bright color = happiness theory may have neglected some pertinant variables.
#6- I didn't manage to get myself up at 5:30 like I wanted to this morning. My alarms went off on my phone, my computer alarm got off. I said oh I just want to shut my eyes a few more seconds.. and it was 7:15. I hate when I do that. I guess I'll just do my power yoga tomorrow morning.
#7- I'm not sure if I want it to snow tomorrow anymore. I have so much I want to get done, that I feel like it will impede things. I don't know. I feel like even if it doesn't snow that I don't have enough time to do everything I need to do. And I'm sure you're thinking "Well Emily, Stop blogging" but I'm only blogging because mymind needs to do something "mindless" for a while. I was just trying to read my business law text book, and I got so confused with all the sections of the SEC law that apply to accountants that I had to give up.
#8- Speaking of business law, I thought it would be about the laws that businesses have to comply with and all that other stuff. So far the chapter I'm reading is instructing me about all the millions of different ways and reasons I could potentially get sued. This is really rather frightening.
#9- I think I am going to paint my nails "It's all Greek to Me" by OPI this weekend.
#10- I am friends with way too many people that I don't actually like... does anyone else have that problem? I have no idea what to do about it, but it seems rude to just delete all the people I don't really like from my life... they might notice.. and then they wouldn't like me :P

Talk nerdy to me!
I just had an accounting epiphany. Those are my absolute favorite. So excited that I understand somethings all the sudden! :)
Tuesday Thought Update
Thoughts, thoughts, thoughts
#1- I watched My Life as Liz last night again at 10:30, and I'm not sure if I'm so in love with it anymore. I am very intrigued. But the mean girls are way meaner than girls would ever actualyl be. The popular girls actually go out of their way to do mean stuff to Liz (ie: send her 10 carnations telling her to meet her secret admirer at the dance). I just don't feel like people woudl eer do that. I knew the popular crowd in high school, and I knew the not popular crowd, and I just feel like the two groups weren't really concerned with each other.
#2- Intermediate II looks like it will be a ton of work but at the moment it feels like while it may be time consuming it wil be doable. Dr. Smith is kind of intimidating, but he gives me the feeling that I will be able to succeed. I am a tiny, tiny, tiny, bit worried about my group (which is basically my "universe" for the whole class, we do everything together). I know one of the guys, J, and he seems really reliable and I trust him. And I know one of the girls is really smart, but there are two people who I don't really know, and I'm not sure what kind of "vibes" I get from them. To be honest, I think one of them is a girl someone told me cheated in their Cost class last semester. And nerdy as it sounds, I take academic integrity very seriously, and if this girl ever tries to cheat on the group work, I think I'd freak out on her. But, so far, it looks doable. I hope!
#3- I'm enjoying a HEAVENLY coffee right now. I really needed it.
#4- I have an 8AM TUe/Thur this semester. I'm sure I'll get used to going to class that early, and it's not that I mind getting up. But my problem is that waking up early, and then not "doing" anything active tends to put me right back to drowsy.
#5- I keep not getting up when I want to get up. I really want to get up at 6AM every day this semester. I think I need to get one of those old fashion alarm clocks (aka not my cell phone) and use that so that i have to get out of bed if I want to reset it.
#6- Where it was so humid yesterday, when I went to bed last night the apartment felt muggy so I opened my window. Boy, did I regret that decision when I woke up this morning in my shorts and tshirt freezing my butt off.
#7- Sometimes I wonder if I have something wrong with my neck because I almost always feel like I have a sore muscle in it. (It's sore today). Usually I just assume its from the way I read for classes and such, but I haven't read for them much yet. And it's still bugging me.
#8- I need to go to get some black "dress" shoes. I read that professional women shouldn't wear flats, and the only pair of "dress" sheos I have are black flats. I think they'd be closer to "ok" if they were more fancy, but they are round toe'd and they have a little decorative button on them.
#9- My birthday is two weeks from today. I am honestly kind of dreading it. It means that I have to retake my vision test for my license, and I'm worried that I won't have the same vision as last time. Which would mean they could, in essense, either revolke or limit my license. In an area like Salisbury, that idea is kind of stressful.
#10- Sometimes when I'm walking around campus, I really hope that I'll run into someone I know. Why? Because I realy want a hug. :P I feel like that's weird.
