New Additions?!

Tuesday Thoughts!

#1- I watched a guy fall on campus earlier and I felt really bad for him because he looked really flustered and embarrassed. I wish I'd taken the tumble, I care less what other people think about me. Plus, I was walking with Z. and he would have helped me up :o)

#2- Everyone is hyping this impending snow (tonight's and this weekends) as if it's going to be 12 feet. I hate to break it to everyone... but usually when they call for the big stuff it ends up missing us completely. I really doubt we're going to get another 12 inches, or even 6. As for tonight, I'll be surprised if we get more than a dusting. Yes I'm being cynical, but it does allow for pleasant surprises.

#3- My horoscope told me that this month I'll have a "new addition" to my life... since I already have a best friend, and a fiance, and I know my momma isn't going to give me another sibling, I've decided that this new addition is most definitely the puppy that Z.'s been saying he'll get me "someday". Woo! I hope he's as cute as Teddy.

#4- I cut my nails last night, and as always, I cut one too short. I always do that! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to STOP doing that??

#5- It really bothers me when people have like full albums dedicated to close up pictures of them. You know what I mean, the "myspace pictures" that we all so fondly took back in 2006?  Yeah thoseeee pictures. It just seems like such an "id" thing to do. Yes, id! I'm using psychology! Id is the part of the personality (I think???) that controls selfish actions. (Id= childlike Ego=normalish Superego=selfless actions). Anyway, the id is what most psychologist use to describe adolescent behavior, and I just feel like the act of talking a million pictures of oneself making "kissy" and "pouty" and "muscle" poses is just very id-like. Okay rant over!

Thursday Thoughts

WOO HOO! SHIT! (Sure Happy It's Thursday, sillies :P). I can't believe it's finally here... :) But I'm super glad that it is... so here's you're much anticipated "thought update". (Do you guys not like these, do you like the more "list" type blogs, the video blogs?? I don't get much feed back so I'm not sure what people like!)

#1 I have twelve followers now! I am pretty excited! I think I'll be most excited when like some random person that I have no connection to starts following me, but for now I am so stoked about 12 I could pee my pants. (But I won't no worries!)

#2 I woke up at 5:30 this morning and I was so excited! I love when I can get up early. (Don't get me wrong, I love  sleep, but I love getting stuff done early). Anyway, I woke up at 5:30, checked my email, and looked for a yoga video. I found one and started it about 10 of 6. It was a 35 minute video so I finished that just in time to go to the gym for about half an hour when it opened. (I did the bike for 25 minutes, WOO 7 miles!) Then I showered and dried my hair and was ready for my 8AM class. I just feel so acomplished now, and I'll be able to get more done this afternoon! So exciting! :o)

#3 I've decided the first thing I am going to do when I get my first "big girl job" with health care is to get invisalign and a professional whitening. My teeth are one thing that really bug me. They're too crowded from my wisdom teeth growing in... and they're stained from a medicine I was on as a baby. I mean it's not awful staining, but it makes me uncomfortable, and I cover my mouth when I laugh/smile because of it. I know healthcare doesn't normally cover elective procedures, and it probably therefore, won't cover eithe rof those, but I will have a salary, so I should be able to afford it. Especially since I don't think I will need to be on invisalign more than a year. Plus, the first year or two of my employment are when I'll have the most "me" money available, so I think it really is the best time. Does wanting to do that make me conceited? I have a lot of things that aren't perfect about me, and I'd never get plasic surgery (or veneers by the way- why ruin healthy teeth??).. I just want my teeth fixed.

#4- I think I am really going to enjoy my business law class. I love cases, and I'm really good at learning concepts and ideas. *Fingers Crossed*\

#5 Just emailed one of my professors asking if I could set up a time to go to his office weekly to look over the homework we go over in class. He pulls up the solutions in a Word document, and I can't read the numbers very well (okay, be honest Em, at all). In fact, to be compeltely honest, I can't read any of it. I told him I didn't see his listed office hours on the website and to jsut let me know when would be a good time to stop by. Normally at this point the professor woudl tell me he could just print me a copy to look at during class (which I could in theory hand back in if he really doesn't want me to have an "advantage" over other students). OR at least tell me their office hours. Instead, he directs me to a location that I can find them, and tells me to let him know when would work best. Awesome. This is going to be a long semester. If  you can see what comes up on the screen in all your classes, don't take that for granted. I am eternally jealous.

#6 Pandora now has ads on it, and a limited amuont of hours per month that you can be logged in. (Okay, all this changed this summer, but my blog wasn't around then). I am really not okay with these chagnes. It is the complete opposite of the original idea of the website. Just saying.

#7 I am secretly hoping for a snowy Saturday. I know practically speaking that it will be a pain in the butt because it will impede any ability to travel (even to Wal-Mart), but just having an excuse to curl up and read (for class of course) sounds fabulous. (well, minus the "class" part).

#8 Lady Gaga is growing on me. But I don't really LIKE her like her yet.

#9 I wish more people used twitter (Follow me! Emily_Doss) !

#10 I'm going to a "slumber party" next Tuesday (I think??) for my friend's Bachelorette party, and I'm excited. I love Melba, the woman doing it, and I've never been to a Bachelorette one. (Apparently they're different.) Guess we'll see... :o)

Tuesday Thought Update

Thoughts, thoughts, thoughts

#1- I watched My Life as Liz last night again at 10:30, and I'm not sure if I'm so in love with it anymore. I am very intrigued. But the mean girls are way meaner than girls would ever actualyl be. The popular girls actually go out of their way to do mean stuff to Liz (ie: send her 10 carnations telling her to meet her secret admirer at the dance). I just don't feel like people woudl eer do that. I knew the popular crowd in high school, and I knew the not popular crowd, and I just feel like the two groups weren't really concerned with each other.

#2- Intermediate II looks like it will be a ton of work but at the moment it feels like while it may be time consuming it wil be doable. Dr. Smith is kind of intimidating, but he gives me the feeling that I will be able to succeed. I am a tiny, tiny, tiny, bit worried about my group (which is basically my "universe" for the whole class, we do everything together). I know one of the guys, J, and he seems really reliable and I trust him. And I know one of the girls is really smart, but there are two people who I don't really know, and I'm not sure what kind of "vibes" I get from them. To be honest, I think one of them is a girl someone told me cheated in their Cost class last semester. And nerdy as it sounds, I take academic integrity very seriously, and if this girl ever tries to cheat on the group work, I think I'd freak out on her. But, so far, it looks doable. I hope!

#3- I'm enjoying a HEAVENLY coffee right now. I really needed it.

#4- I have an 8AM TUe/Thur this semester. I'm sure I'll get used to going to class that early, and it's not that I mind getting up. But my problem is that waking up early, and then not "doing" anything active tends to put me right back to drowsy.

#5- I keep not getting up when I want to get up. I really want to get up at 6AM every day this semester. I think I need to get one of those old fashion alarm clocks (aka not my cell phone) and use that so that i have to get out of bed if I want to reset it.

#6- Where it was so humid yesterday, when I went to bed last night the apartment felt muggy so I opened my window. Boy, did I regret that decision when I woke up this morning in my shorts and tshirt freezing my butt off.

#7- Sometimes I wonder if I have something wrong with my neck because I almost always feel like I have a sore muscle in it. (It's sore today). Usually I just assume its from the way I read for classes and such, but I haven't read for them much yet. And it's still bugging me.

#8- I need to go to get some black "dress" shoes. I read that professional women shouldn't wear flats, and the only pair of "dress" sheos I have are black flats. I think they'd be closer to "ok" if they were more fancy, but they are round toe'd and they have a little decorative button on them.

#9- My birthday is two weeks from today. I am honestly kind of dreading it. It means that I have to retake my vision test for my license, and I'm worried that I won't have the same vision as last time. Which would mean they could, in essense, either revolke or limit my license. In an area like Salisbury, that idea is kind of stressful.

#10- Sometimes when I'm walking around campus, I really hope that I'll run into someone I know. Why? Because I realy want a hug. :P I feel like that's weird.

Friday Thoughts

Sorry lovelies! I know I didn't do any blogging yesterday, but I was super sleepy, really into Bones, and needed to pack! So, now that I'm 75% settled into my apartment again, I'm ready to blog! :o)

Thought #1- I cleaned my my bathroom, my closet, all my desk drawers, and everything out today. I reorganized and refolded everything. It has recently occured to me that not everyone is as "tidy" as I am. But, I seriously don't understand how these people live. Like how do you just let nasty dirt/dust accumulate?! Ugh drives me crazy!! I still need to vaccuum a declutter a little more.. but if I want to be showered/ready by 6:30 when Zach get's me AND get a blog in, I've gotta give up for the day! :P If anyone is interested in seeing my immaculate apt. please feel free to request pictures :P.

Thought #2- Bex, Amy, and I all decided to get a magazine subscription together (who do I owe money??) which would "force" us to get together once a month to read the magazines and chat. Bex says we have four magazines already! (We got back issues apparently :P). So I'm pretty excited for that, and hope we find a few minutes to get together to do that this weekend.

Thought #3- I am in complete denail that the semester starts on Monday. I am just going to operate under the belief that if I deny it long enough it won't come!

Thought #4- I almost died at the gym today. Okay, okay, okay. I probably wasn't actually going to die.. but I was doing 30 second sprints (moving 8.5 mph) and then 30 second walks (about 5-6 mph) on the treadmill. I pushed really hard on the last "sprint"  and I seriously think my heart was about to burst through my chest.

Thought #5- My room-mate C made vodka gummy bears, and I could seriously eat the entire bin. She keeps offering them to me (I have a weak spot for candy!) and forgetting they have vodka in them. Oops.

Thought #6- I finally threw out a pair of jeans. I haven't done that in like 2 years because last time I got on a "cleaning spree" I threw away all but like 4 pairs and didn't know what to do.

Thought #7- My mom gave me this purple pen at some point towards the end of the semester, and I'm writing my grocery/wal-mart list (these are two seperate trips mind you) in it, and I swear it makes my mood 10 times better.

Thought #8- I keep wanting to write a blog about this episode of Bones that I saw the other day, but I don't have time. And I'm not even sure entirely what I want to say about it. I just want to comment on it, because it was so warped, but I could definitely see it happening. Hum. I will get on that tomorrow. I sa-ware.

Thought #9- I have completely abandoend my farm on farmville, I'm sure I might go back to it at some point, but for now.. It's just too much work. Obviously I'm not stressed yet. :P

Thought #10- I really need to take a shower before I go do something with Z later, but I don't want to shower, because I just got my shower all pretty and clean. I dont want to get toe prints and water spots on it :(.

Thoughts

#1 I kind of want to get some reddish highlights again. However, I don't really want to spend like $50 to get them. It just doesn't seem logical.

#2 Tonight I had a "Bad for you coffee" (White Chocolate Mocha) and it was so delicious. I haven't had one in probably six or seven months.

#3 I'm on season 4 of Bones and so incredibly excited. Getting so close to being all caught up. Side note: I always think that Bones' makeup is really pretty. I wish I could pull her look off.

#4 I went into BBB earlier and saw that they are putting the comforter I bought in summer 08 on clearance. This makes me really sad because I love my comforter and it's a really specific style (it's suade on one side and suede on another) and I don't think they're getting any more like it :(

#5 I have an unnatural sentimental attachment to candy hearts. I think it's because when I was little my parents always got them for me for valentines day. Also, my mom used to always put them on my birthday cupcakes and stuff (since my birthday is so close to Valentine's Day).

#6 I really like Valentine's Day. And it's not because I'm in a relationship and have someone to spend it with. But, it's a day that truly embraces all the stuff I like. I love chick flick movies. I love pink. I love girly stuff. I'm not sure :o) I just really like the holiday. It reminds me of being little and giving Valentine's out in class. :P

#7 The only reason I am even mildly okay with the semester starting again is because it means I get to buy school supplies. I know, my life is so pathetic.

#8 I really want to go ice skating.

#9 That song that goes "Ayyy, must be the money!" is currently playing on Kiss 105.5 and I can't help but remember summer in middle school. Gym shorts, t-shirts, pony tails, and swimming in Lauren's pool all afternoon and night. I'm surprised my hair didn't fall off from all the chlorine damage.

#10 I really need new gym apparal. But I just cannot understand the outrageous prices they charge for them. I was looking at a pair of Nike shorts the other day in Dick's and they were $55. And all I could think is that I'd be paying $55 dollars to buy a pair of shorts that no one I knew would ever see me wear, AND that all I would do is sweat in. Why, why, why would anyone pay that much for clothes they're jsut going to sweat in!?

What's up Em?

I cannot believe that it was one month ago EXACTLY, that the semester ended. Sadly, that means it's getting ready to start back up again, and I am increasingly dreading that. However, for anyone whose read my "Spring Semester Goals" you'll see that I'm going to try and make it a better semester than the fall semester!

Anyway, here's what's up with me this week. Prepare to be jealous of my incredibly boring life. This week I'll be working Tuesday through Thursday for the most part of the day. Tomorrow I am going to get up super early and drag my butt to the gym. I plan on doing the elyptical for 30 mins plus five cool down and then the bike for 15 plus three cool down. Which means, that I need just under an hour of time at the gym. So, if I want to be at work by 9, I should probably get to the gym around six thirty, which means I need to be up around 6:10. Ohhh yuck! But I can do it! Anyway, I'm going to do that everyday this week I hope, just to get into the swing of going to the gym early in the morning again, because I need to be in that mindset for the semester.

Friday morning I'm going to bring all my stuff back to my apartment and drop it off, and then head over to work around 9 or so. I'll work probably until 3 or 3:30 and then come back to my apartment to unpack. Hopefully my mommy and daddy will take me out to dinner one last time that night. Then Saturday I'll go grocery shopping and load up on the semester essentials while I'm out. (Aka highlighters, pens, pencils, notecards). Then I plan on spending Saturday doing a nice long workout at the gym, and cleaning the apartment REALLY well before the semester starts. (I get really OCD at the beginning of the semester). Once I've done that I think Z will come over and we'll have one last final real date night, before the semester, and inevitably the baseball season start. I know I can still have date nights during the semester, and during the season, but during the semester even on date nights I can't get my mind off of what I'm supposed to be doing in my studying and stuff. It's awful.

Anyway, I hope to try and keep up with my blog during the semester. But since no one besides me really seems attached to this, I could really see it falling to the wayside.

I am thinking of doing a video series called "Through the Years". It's on youtube, and the idea is that for each year of your schooling you do a video blog talking about the things that happened that year, who your friends were, what was going on in the world, etc. Let me know if you'd be interested.

Anyway, that's all for now. I'm going to go watch some more bones and snuggle into bed for the night.

xoxo

Thursday Thoughts

#1- I watched 6 episodes of Bones today at work while scanning people's text books. I felt like a big lazy butt, but I'm about to watch some more.
#2- Ran four miles today after work, outside. It felt soooo nice to run outside again! Too bad I discovered a little icy (and by little I  mean a 20 foot stretch of road) patch. :P Luckily I didn't fall!
#3- Diet Pepsi/Diet Coke/Diet Dr. Pepper = favorite thing about life.
#4- Cramps = The Worst
#5- I really want to own a Wii, even though I get bored playing video games.
#6- I saw this comercial the other day for an exercise game for the Wii, (and your computer) that had like a little camera and it tracks your movements and it tells you when you've done an exercise right. I really want to know what it was calld because since you can use it with your computer and NOT just a video game system, I would consider purchasing it.
#7- Had to go to Wal-Mart today. Always the worst experience of my life.
#8- I got into my pj's at 5:30 today. I am suchhh a slacker.
#9- I wanna go visit my big sister, but I can just not seem to find an economically feasable way to do this.
#10- Brennen on Bones (aka Bones on Bones) always wanted a pet pig when she was little. I also, always wanted a pet pig when I was little. I find this to be just another sign from God that I am meant to be with SASB.
#11- Speaking of pigs. When I was little my dad used to call me in the room when pigs came on the news and cut out the articles in the paper about pigs. Now, he points me in the direction of the aricles that mention PKS, where P stands for Pigg. I find this highly ironic.
#12- I read my horoscope on iGoogle every day... but I can never figure out what they mean.
#13- Phillies season is getting close <3 <3 <3 <3 Don't know what I'm going to do without Robot Cliff Lee to oggle over. Perhaps Lidge will pull his act together this season, and if worst comes to worst I'll just drool over Hamels and Utley. <3
#14- I really need to file and paint my nails. Whenever I have long nails I scratch at myself in my sleep and really irritate my skin.
#15- Birthday is getting close!! 25 days :o) Too bad it'll probably be super boring :(

Random Thought of the Moment

I'm watching Bones at the moment, and someone just said the word dazzled. As in, "He was dazzled by you." And I have decided that I don't think dazzled is used nearly enough. I know it's used in Twilight, but I just think it should be used more in every day life. I mean it realyl does suggest a really intense feeling of interest and admiration. Alright, just my two cents. :P

Wednesday's Thoughts

Thoughts

#1- Hurray, hurray, hurray, hurray it's already Wednesday! That means I've succeeded at surviving one half of a work week. However, it also means that I am half a week closer to starting my spring semester.

#2- This weather is ridiculously gross. I'm not sure it has surpassed 32 degrees at all in the last week, and I am running out of thick, warm, wooly socks to keep my feet warm. This is a problem.

#3- Agent Seeley Booth and I would make really cute babies. Z is not okay with the idea of me swooning over him. However, I contest that I will probably swoon until the day I do. How could one not swoon over a man that looks like this.

#4- I have been craving a really meaty, cheesey, greasy, pizza for the last 3 days and it has yet to miraculously appear. This is awfully upsetting.

#5- I updated my iGoogle theme earlier today, and it may or may not have given me an immense amount of joy. Sometimes I question if it really is possible to get too much joy for the little things.

Em

Tuesdays Hi-lights

In light of my grumpy post and ramblings yesterday I have decided to focus on the moments of pure happiness in my life today.

Moment #1- I got dunkin donuts coffee (I wasn't kidding when I said I was slowly getting addicted) on the way to work today. Why is this fabulous? Well because first of all, I didn't burn my toungue. And more importantly, I didn't pay, at least not really. So it was an oh so fabulous moment in life.

Moment #2- I went back to work in the office I used to work at and felt like I'd come home after being away for years.

Moment #3- Internship man called me back. I go in to talk to them next Monday at two. How incredible!

Moment #4- I left the gym today super sweaty and disgusting. When I got in the car, I turned on the radio. Party in the USA was on. So what'd I do? You better believe it maxed out my speakers and made the 5 minute drive home belting along. And to top it all off. When Party in the USA ended 2 minutes from home, "Whatcha Say" came on. Two good songs in a row? Priceless! Moment

#5- After returning home from the gym (I ran 3.5 miles and biked 4.5!!) I took a nice long shower, got a snack, and sat down to read one of the most amusing blogs ever. And had not one, but two, updates waiting to be read. ( http://allthesingleladiez.blogspot.com/ )

What's up?

Hello, Hello, Hello.

I've decided to start a sweet and simple blog for 2010. Nothing too grand, just something to write some thoughts down in. :o)

So here are some of today's thoughts:

1- I really hate when I read about tremendous ways to "work your core ab muscles." Why? Because I just don't get it. I wish working your core ab muscles was like learning how to bat for softball (which, to be honest, I still can't do), where someone can just help you through the motions.. but they can't. I find it highly frustrating.

2- I am pretty sure I am slowly becoming addicted to Dunkin Donuts coffee. This is mildly dangerous.

3- Just finished Savannah Blues by Mary Kay Andrews. SO GOOD! It was a chick lit mystery... so, so, so amazing!

4- It breaks my heart that the nails I got done on Tuesday are already chipping. They are so pretty. OPI- Peru B Ruby, awesome color.

5- On day one of trying to find a room mate for next year, might have been successful. So. Exciting.

6- I love "Self" Magazine. Definitely better than Cosmo, which is always trying to teach me '55 sizzly ways to please my man'

7- Last night I discovered that Aaron Carter (yes, you read that right) has new music. The 11-13 year old girl in me was highly intrigued. Then highly let down. (If you're interested check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlF48SfduoU)

8- I just discovered a purse I really adore in my aforementioned "Self" magazine. Color me surprised to see it was more than $600 dollars. Setting my hopes away from the funky, aqua, chocolate, and tan number, I checked out some other purses. I settled on the bright purple one. $300. I really need a job that supports my expensive taste... needless to say, no new purses today.

9- I always watch Food Network or the news when I'm at the gym. I plugged in my headphones today and my ear was shocked. Seriously, who else would have that happen to them.

10- I am of the impression that anyone who goes into public wearing tweetie bird shirts and leggings should be escorted out of whatever venue they are in by police escort.

Sooo! That was fun. I think everyone else interested should make blogs and we can all follow each other. :o) It'll be perfect, back to the days of xanga and livejournal! Do it, do it, do it!

xoxo,
Em
