This may be a little early, but I had a few minutse (aka about fifty) before my next class begins and since break is about to start I don't feel as though I should be wasting away in the library. I deserve a break- right? Right? Anyway- I found some questions online about Thanksgiving and I thought I'd go ahead and answer them in this post. I'll leave a little blank template below and I'd love it if everyone would answer them for yourselves in a comment (just include your name!)
My Thanksgiving plans this year....
Nothing special that I am aware of. I plan on waking up relatively early (around 7 or so) going on a jog around the neighborhood, an then coming home taking a shower, and getting back in my PJ's to watch a little bit of the Thanksgiving Day Parade. At some point I will probably see Zach for a few minutes but for various reasons we don't actually "do" Thanksgiving together yet- so he'll probably just stop by for a bit and maybe watch an episode of 30 Rock before heading back to his family.
After dinner I'll probably do festive things like google things I want for Christmas and make a list (honestly have NO idea what to ask for....), then perhaps watch a Christmas movie... or more 30 Rock!
My favorite Thanksgiving was....
I'm honestly probably combining a few Thanksgivings into one here, but in my head this was all the same year . I guess I was about 8 or 9 and I remember waking up and going outside and it was probably like 40 degrees out, one of those really traditional "cold" and "crisp" Thanksgivings. I remember roller skating in the driveway (white skates, pink wheels) and waiting for my Grandparents to get to our house. I remember coming inside when we got there- and playing with my beanie babies, and then having dinner. After dinner I seem to remember going to see the lights in Ocean City, and then coming home to play with my beanie babies some more. I know this probably sounds like an incredibly boring Thanksgiving but its the one that I think of whenever I think of Thanksgiving.
My signature Thanksgiving dish....
Oh, I haven't really gotten one yet. I suppose pumpkin pie or Brocoli Caserole as my mom has insister I assist in the preparation of Thanksgiving over the last few years and those are the only things I have any memory of making.
My favorite Thanksgiving food is...
Oh goodness... this is tough. I am going to have to cheat and just name them all because I aboslutely love holiday food. I love brocoli caserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing, twice baked potatoes, and pumpkin pie. Yum!
When I say Thanksgiving, you say.... (free association)
Food!
Thanksgiving is....
A day to be reminded of everything that is wonderful in your life and to be thankful for it, a day to rest and recouperate, a day for family and friends
I am thankful for.....
My family, my fiance, my friends, my job, my home, my dog, my car, my brain, my shoes, my jewelery, my candles, my bed, my books, my passions, my creativity, and laughter (:

Lush Wish List
I don't really have a "Christmas" Wish-List at the moment- I don't really want anything in particular- and if I do, I normally just buy it for myself. Anyway, there is a bath company that intrigues me, and they currently have their Christmas bath products out and words can't begin to describe how much I "theoretically" want them all. (The closest one is in Annapolis, so um... if I were to go and check them out I might not want them, but theoretically, I want these!) The company is called "Lush" cosmetics. So let's get started on the wish list. (:
If you're interested in this product you can find more information on the Lush web-page here. If you want to order it but want to see how it works before you order it you can also see a demonstration on YouTube.
This guy just really interests me, unfortunately I cannot seem to find an image google so you're going to have to go to the Lush website to check him out! Basically what he is though is a white Snowman bath bomb that was inspired by a Swiss tradition where in every year at Christmas they would building a snowman and fill his head with fireworks. They would then place him over a bonfire and see how long it took for him to melt and therefore set the fireworks off. Apparently the longer they would have to wait, the better their following summer would be. I just found it kind of interesting and I think the bath bomb is kind of neat too Your water will change colors as the head dissolves into the water. Pretty neat huh? At least you got a little history lesson!
In contrast to the first two on the list, this is actually a bubble bar, which means instead of just smelling good and changing the color of my water, it is going to bubble up with lots of bubbles. Now I think I'm just partial to this guy because I feel like how cool is it to have a bubble bar that you can use on Christmas Eve night to relax you before Santa comes. In my head I have the night planned out. Come home from church, eat a dinner of Macoroni and Cheese and Ham with rolls (family Christmas Eve dinner, every year), take a bubble bath with my Christmas Eve bubble bar, and then curl up in my red and white polka dot flannel PJ's and watch "The Santa Claus" while I wait to hear the sleigh bells outside? I don't know I tend to build up experiences but I just think that'd be the perfect Christmas Eve night. (If only I could have snow outside too.. ). But seriously doesn't that sound awesome?
If you want to see this one on the Lush website you can view it here. This is another one that I was able to locate a little demo for on YouTube.
"Cinders Bath Bomb"
According to the Lush website the scent of this bath bomb is (according to the Lush page) a spicy cinnamon, orange and almond. What's cute about this little guy is it turns your shade a light yellow-y orange but it also crackles as though you're sitting in front of a fire. This seems like it'd be perfect for one of those first nights of the Holiday season right after Thanksgiving. Perhaps after a hard Cyber Monday of shopping? If you're interested in this product you can find more information on the Lush web-page here. If you want to order it but want to see how it works before you order it you can also see a demonstration on YouTube.

Didya know?
I was just thinking about my "younger" years and figure that there are a lot of things people who haven't known me for like 10 years... might not know. So I thought we'd play "did ya know" version 2010. (: Lets play! Let me know how many you knew...
1. When I was in high school I worked as a camp counselor and teachers aid at a summer camp and then at a program called Horizons.
2. I played the flute from 5th grade through 11th grade. And never seemed to get better at it.
3. (I find this important to let people know since even Zach didn't know!) I have three favorite Christmas songs and I think they fall in different 'genres' of Christmas music... so in no specific order (as they're all first in their respective genre): Carol of the Bells (traditional, not the Trans Siberian Orchestra version, although that one is nice), The First Noel, and Feliz Navidad.
Carol of the Bells
The First Noel
Feliz Navidad (This was Christmas time jam when I was 8...)
4. The most consistent friend I've had in my life I met when I was 7 and lives 2.5 (or 6 if she's at school) hours away. But she's honestly the only person I know who I've ever had so much in common with and whose friendship has survived 14, almost 15 years. Which is strange because we see each other maybe once a year and don't talk on a completely regular basis.
5. When I was little I used to line up all my stuffed animals behind me and lay on top of them when I slept so that in case somebody broke into our house, my 'babies' would be safe. Funny how our idea of treasures and valuables change over time...
6. I played soccer for more than 10 years, and like my flute I was never more than average. Um hello... someone forgot to give me talent in something.. just saying.
7. When I was little and had one of those Fisher Price white radio's with the little red microphones I used to record my own radio shows. Like I'd wake up and go down stairs and do the 'weather report' (incredibly accurately for a six year old... just saying...) and then I'd wait for a good song to come on the real radio record it next, then do like a little talk show.. with myself. Shut up. It was cool.
8. My dream job is to be an accountant at "The Weather Channel" so I can account and still get to hang around all the cool weathermen and women.
9. Pigs are my favorite animal. I feel like we have a lot in common. Pink skin, susceptible to sun burn, I too liked playing in the mud as a piglet, and I squeak when I get overwhelmed or a bit over zealous.
10. My personality is absolutely NOTHING like it was when I was younger. When I was little I was a firecracker and a drama queen. (Okay.. the drama queen part might still be there). I was loud and always getting into things, building things with my legos, hanging out with people, playing outside, running around, making a mess, dressing up, leaving my stuff all over the house, playing in the dirt, wearing t-shirts down to my knees, putting on plays in the living room and leaving crayons and beads scattered all over the house. Little Emily was so much fun! I think she'd probably think Big Emily is pretty *yawn* boring.
Night all!

Things I Like This Week
Um... yeah I love how this blog went from "updates" to just talking about stuff I like. Oh well... I'm dynamic. My likes change a lot!
Again these guys came up in my Pandora earlier this week and sometimes you find someone, and they just have one song and you're like "okay well that was nice but the rest of your stuff stinks" but not with Boyce Avenue. Most of the stuff I find of theirs isn't original- they have a ton of covers but they do such good covers AND they're all of songs I loved in their original form too! The first song I posted is an original and the second is one of my favorite songs that they covered. (: (Because if I've never mentioned this... I really *like* the Goo Goo Dolls too!)
Oh my GOSH. This candle is THE quintessential Autumn Candle. It is EVERYTHING that this season represents. Spice, warmth, sweetness. It's heavenly. I adore, adore, adore the smell. I liken it to walking into a country store the fragrance and spice you get just by walking in the door. Its wonderful. I am a bit disappointed though. I am having a hard time locating more of the tarts. I can find the candle but the candles are pretty pricey so to buy a whole candle is expensive (and bulky). But if you can find this smell at least take a moment to "smell the harvest" you won't regret it.

Coffee
I mean... okay, I always like coffee. But today is National Coffee Day and so I just had to put that I liked coffee in this post. And honestly- I just couldn't think of what else it was that I liked right now other than the two things I already mentioned. So I defaulted to coffee!

Tuesday Tidbits
#1- I think I'm getting a cold? Or my allergies are getting really bad.. but I've been taking Zyrtec everyday for almost a week. This morning I woke up with a really sore throat and my nose has been really stuff all day. Not a fan of this. Momma suggested I take Sudafed but I didn't call her until right before class and I don't want to run out now... so maybe I'll get some tomorrow.
#2- Kind of upset that my nails are already chipping as much as they are... I only got them done last Friday and they're chipping pretty decently.
#3- This weekend Zach and I are going to a Phillies game (I believe I mentioned this previously) but since my test got moved we're going to spend the whole day in Philly going to museums and doing a bit of shopping downtown. Aka I'll look at a lot of stuff and won't be able to pick anything that I like more than anything else so I won't get anything.
#4- I washed my sheets today and I did the cotton sheets in one load, my comforter in another load, and then because I didn't want to do two more loads I did my bed blanket (which is like knit cream color) and my fleece blanket (red), and now my bed blanket is slightly pink. I honestly don't regret it- just feel a tiny bit silly. I'd washed that blanket before I didn't think it would bleed!
#5- I've really been loving my pink grapefruit tictacs... although I might be slightly biased because they are after all... pink !

Happenings
Happy Monday Everyone! Three posts in one week? Woah! I'm getting pretty good at this again. Anyway- I am currently giving myself permission to be lazy for about another 15 minutes or so so I figured that I'd update anyone who cares on my semester/life as of late.
School- I really just don't like this semester. I always feel like there is work that I should be doing but its almost always "reading" which is hard to keep focused on especially when you're reading in advance- because you don't have any idea what half the material means and it doesn't feel completely 'necessary', ya know? Plus- I am a morning person I like to get all my responsibilities out of the way first thing in the morning and then do my work late in the day but this semester is asking me to do the compelte opposite. I don't have a class before noon (except gym, but for real does that even count.. its gym) I just don't like it. I can't get into a good rhythem and I'm always tired because my body just doesn't get what it's supposed to be doing. It doesn't help that I really don't like my Advanced Accounting at all, and the only class I actually 'like like' is tax... so it's just like.. not fun. :/
Work- Work is work. I work Thursday from 8-5pm which is nice because it leaves me about 2 hours to get ready for class (7pm). Although when the time changes I'll probably have to boogie closer to 4.... because I need daylight to drive haha. And then on Friday's I'm going in anywhere between 10:30 and 12 and then working until 5. It's okay. If you don't know I'm doing the book keeping for one of our clients on those days (I technically go into PKS on Friday but for the past few weeks I've had work carry into Friday so I've just gone there) Anyway- it's fun but I miss the work people- I feel like I work for our client not PKS just because I never go into the office except once a week to throw my t ime in the computer and check my email.
Life- Life is good. This past weekend I went to the wedding for Zach's boss and it was pretty and fun. After that we drove up to Rehoboth in hopes of seeing the Phanatic at the Green Turtle.. unfortunately I grabbed the wrong locations address so we went to the wrong one! Woops. After we had our "snack" we went to the Yankee Candle Store at the outlets (because I have a problem) and then came home. Next weekend we're going to be going to a Phillies v. Mets game on Saturday so that is going to be tons and tons of fun <3 Philly!
Anyway- I've procrastinated long enough I should go to the library and read a little bit before classes this afternoon... I guessssss.
Ooooh! And real quick make sure you check out Dexter over there to the right in the Daily Puppy Widget I have on here. He's a golden doodle, which if you don't know, is my favorite breed of big dogs (:

Things I love Today
Joshua Radin
Apparently this was on Bones- but I have no recollection of what episode it was on. I'm sure it was in season five sometime- but I have no idea when! I do love it though- it's beautiful. <3
The Gieco Pig Commercial
The Eli Young Band
God I love this song- I owe so much thanks to Pandora for delivering the great music I have in my life to my life. This song might be my favorite but I also really like "So Close Now" and "Oklahoma Girl". I really wish they performed on the East Coast- no such luck!
Matt Schuab
Okay,... first of all, lets all look at that nice looking bicep... lots to like about him. But today, we're liking that he earned me 48 fantasy points as he got 497 passing yards in the game against the Redskins. Sure- I'm bummed that my Redskins lost, but the quarterback for the Sweetsville Sparkling Roses did FABULOUS. And I mean again, do I need to reiterate how good looking his biceps are?! Definitely loving Matty-boy today.
My Nails: Glove You So Much
The only thing I don't like is that when I got them done I didn't clip them too short
first- which means I'm chipping them faster. But anyway- this color is "Glove You So Much" from OPI's Christmas 2009 Collection. So, so, so, so pretty! It matched the shoes I wore to the wedding I went to yesterday PERFECTLY!!!
My Tart Warmer
Isn't it pretty? Plus when I want a new smell I can just buy a $2 tart instead of having to buy a whole new candle! How exciting?!

Things I'm Loving
I know! I've been so MIA the past few months it's insane but yesterday my friend Jamie asked me if I still blogged and I was like oh my gosh I LOVED writing silly posts about the things I was madly in love with- so I think I'm going to try being better about it! Let's start with some things that I have been loving the past few months! Pictures will be included as always because I love blogs with pictures!
Oh my gosh- words cannot explain how in love I am with this scent. I own the body wash, the body lotion, the body mist, and as of today the bubble bath and I am just in love. It's a berry, plum scent with a hint of vanilla and I just love it. It's perfect for fall and really makes me think of getting a cup of coffee and curling up with a good book by a fire, or of going for a walk in a hoodie on a really cool fall night. I just love this smell- words can't explain it.
I've never been a bath and body works girl- but I've been getting obsessed lately because I can always manager to get such great deals and bargains. My friend Emma sent me a coupon through email the other day that was one free 'signature body item' free with any $10 purchase. So I got my bubble bath- which retailed at $12 free when I bought two 4ox candles (for $10 total). I just feel like that's a really good deal. I mean normally with coupons like that you have to buy the more expensive thing and then you can get the cheaper item for free- but that's never how it is with them- at least at the local location they're always trying to help you get the best deal.

Candles
I've also really been loving candles lately- I've had to branch out from my favorite Yankee Candles due to their growing astronominal prices- but I love candles all the same. I'm interested to see how the ones from bath and body works are and if they're fragrent. I got one in "Frosted Cranberries" and another in "Spiced Apple" which is lovely because now I have some very autumnal scents- which pleases me quite a bit. I don't know they're just something very soothing about having a candle flicker and make your room smell pretty.
I'll definitely let you know how the bath and body works candles work out for me if you're interested! (:
Tax Accounting
If you don't know I'm taking four accounting classes this semester- and most of them I really don't like. I just feel as though they're boring and I just don't like the material we're covering. As such, I've been trying to find one class that I actually do like, and I think it's tax accounting. It's very much formulas based which most other accounting isn't, and it's interesting to dream up all the possibilties and figure out if you can get a deduction for them.
For example, the other day in class my professor was saying that you can claim as a dependant your friend Bob if he sits on your couch all year eating your food and not having a job. Interestingly though, if instead of Bob you had your girlfriend Jenny living with you doing the same thing- you could not claim her as a dependant. Later we got talking about how although some states allow same-sex marriage and you could file as married on your state tax return, since the federal government doesn't recognize it, you couldn't file as married on your joint return. SO being the inquisitive person I am I said "Using that logic then, since the Federal Government doesn't reognize the same sex person as your husband/wife could you then claim your 'more than friend' Bob whose lived on your couch all year as a dependant" hahaha. I am soooo getting audited this year
This song
Okay- it doesn't apply to my life at all but I like the melody a lot and Colbie has such a wonderful voice that I end up falling in love with almost every single one of her songs for at least a few weeks

MAC Lip-Product Wishlist
So... if you're a guy this probably isn't for you. But I thought I'd make this blog to do a wishlist for all my most wanted MAC lip products. Yes- they can be a little pricey, buttt oh well. It's a wishlist for a reason!
All images are googled- don't own any of them. Cause I mean... clearly if I did I'd own the lip products and wouldn't be wishlisting them!

Sunday Funday
Helllllo. Happy Sunday Funday (:
I'm going to try and make a concentrated effort to may more attention to my lovely bloggity blog. So.. here are some thoughts.
#1- I got my new little dresser thing from Target yesterday. Kind of on impulse but I knew I was going to get it, and I didn't want to wait forever and then have them run out of the little cube/baskets to put in it! (:
It doesn't really match my room at home, but it matches my apartment furniture better and it kind of (sort of) matches the colors in my bedding and stuff that I use there. As you can kind of see (center row, center bin) I've used it to store a lot of my gym clothes, I have two of them filled up with t-shirts (I have a LOT of t-shirts) and then one with pj pants, another with camis, and then one for running shorts, one for socks, and then a few miscellaneous things in them as well.
Because I got that guy though I now have an extra sterlite thing of drawers that I won't be using. If you know anyone who could use them, let me know! I will let you know the wheels aren't the best working so I might recommend just pulling them off all together. But it has three large drawers and four smaller ones. So if you think you could use it, get up with me, and I'll try and work out a time to meet up with you and give it to you (:
#2- Zach and I went up to a National's game on Friday and after battling with the city for over an hour we finally found a metro and were able to get to the stadium. I returned home safely and was telling my Dad about their stadiums really expensive parking, and how we decided to take the metro into the stadium, and I mentioned we parked in Anacostia and took it into Navy Yard. I was then told (by him) that apparently we parked in the worst and probably one of the most dangerous parts of the city. Awessommmme. Zach took great pride in knowing that he can scare of the toughest gangsters in DC though. Anyway here are a few pictures from the game...
View of the scoreboard from our seats (: Look at how ginormous their screen is!
I thought this was kind of funny... its like that whole side of the stadium looks pretty full... and then there are just like three sections that are completely empty. :P
Zach and us wearing Phillies shirts at a "National's" game. (I put "National's" in quotes because to be honest... pretty sure there were wayyyy more Phillies fans than Nat's fans at the game :P)
#3 - Lately I've been loving non-traditional nail colors. Earlier this summer I purchased Rimmel's "Steel Gray" and I really love the color. At first I thought it looked awful with my complexion but it grew on me quickly (and I swear it got darker!)
Obviously this is a picture I got off line but I wanted to show it to you, and I'm feeling lazy. I also must say the formula of this brand (I also have it in Red Stiletto) is really nice. I use a top coat and a base coat and I barely have any issues with it chipping. Plus it goes on thicker than most so it doesn't look too streaky.
Also, Zach decided he needed to buy me a present so this past Friday before the National's game I got Revlon's "Steel her Heart" which is a darker more blue gray color and I put some on my thumb last night to see if I wanted to paint my nails that color this week (I narrow it down to two colors than decide which one I want by painting my thumb :P) and I really like it.
Again- this picture isn't mine but I wanted to show you the color. This is a bit thinner (and not as great a formula) as Rimmel's Steel Gray but I still really love the color. I think I like these colors because they're not "traditional" but they still feel work appropriate. (: Plus I think they'll be really pretty fall colors!
