Things I'm Loving

I know! I've been so MIA the past few months it's insane but yesterday my friend Jamie asked me if I still blogged and I was like oh my gosh I LOVED writing silly posts about the things I was madly in love with- so I think I'm going to try being better about it! Let's start with some things that I have been loving the past few months! Pictures will be included as always because I love blogs with pictures!

The scent Dark Kiss by Bath and Body Works

Oh my gosh- words cannot explain how in love I am with this scent. I own the body wash, the body lotion, the body mist, and as of today the bubble bath and I am just in love. It's a berry, plum scent with a hint of vanilla and I just love it. It's perfect for fall and really makes me think of getting a cup of coffee and curling up with a good book by a fire, or of going for a walk in a hoodie on a really cool fall night. I just love this smell- words can't explain it.

I've never been a bath and body works girl- but I've been getting obsessed lately because I can always manager to get such great deals and bargains. My friend Emma sent me a coupon through email the other day that was one free 'signature body item' free with any $10 purchase. So I got my bubble bath- which retailed at $12 free when I bought two 4ox candles (for $10 total). I just feel like that's a really good deal. I mean normally with coupons like that you have to buy the more expensive thing and then you can get the cheaper item for free- but that's never how it is with them- at least at the local location they're always trying to help you get the best deal.

Candles

I've also really been loving candles lately- I've had to branch out from my favorite Yankee Candles due to their growing astronominal prices- but I love candles all the same. I'm interested to see how the ones from bath and body works are and if they're fragrent. I got one in "Frosted Cranberries" and another in "Spiced Apple" which is lovely because now I have some very autumnal scents- which pleases me quite a bit. I don't know they're just something very soothing about having a candle flicker and make your room smell pretty.

I'll definitely let you know how the bath and body works candles work out for me if you're interested! (:

Tax Accounting

If you don't know I'm taking four accounting classes this semester- and most of them I really don't like. I just feel as though they're boring and I just don't like the material we're covering. As such, I've been trying to find one class that I actually do like, and I think it's tax accounting. It's very much formulas based which most other accounting isn't, and it's interesting to dream up all the possibilties and figure out if you can get a deduction for them.

For example, the other day in class my professor was saying that you can claim as a dependant your friend Bob if he sits on your couch all year eating your food and not having a job. Interestingly though, if instead of Bob you had your girlfriend Jenny living with you doing the same thing- you could not claim her as a dependant. Later we got talking about how although some states allow same-sex marriage and you could file as married on your state tax return, since the federal government doesn't recognize it, you couldn't file as married on your joint return. SO being the inquisitive person I am I said "Using that logic then, since the Federal Government doesn't reognize the same sex person as your husband/wife could you then claim your 'more than friend' Bob whose lived on your couch all year as a dependant" hahaha. I am soooo getting audited this year

This song

Okay- it doesn't apply to my life at all but I like the melody a lot and Colbie has such a wonderful voice that I end up falling in love with almost every single one of her songs for at least a few weeks

MAC Lip-Product Wishlist

So... if you're a guy this probably isn't for you. But I thought I'd make this blog to do a wishlist for all my most wanted MAC lip products. Yes- they can be a little pricey, buttt oh well. It's a wishlist for a reason!

All images are googled- don't own any of them. Cause I mean... clearly if I did I'd own the lip products and wouldn't be wishlisting them!

Sunday Funday

Helllllo. Happy Sunday Funday (:

I'm going to try and make a concentrated effort to may more attention to my lovely bloggity blog. So.. here are some thoughts.

#1- I got my new little dresser thing from Target yesterday. Kind of on impulse but I knew I was going to get it, and I didn't want to wait forever and then have them run out of the little cube/baskets to put in it! (:
It doesn't really match my room at home, but it matches my apartment furniture better and it kind of (sort of) matches the colors in my bedding and stuff that I use there. As you can kind of see (center row, center bin) I've used it to store a lot of my gym clothes, I have two of them filled up with t-shirts (I have a LOT of t-shirts) and then one with pj pants, another with camis, and then one for running shorts, one for socks, and then a few miscellaneous things in them as well.

Because I got that guy though I now have an extra sterlite thing of drawers that I won't be using. If you know anyone who could use them, let me know! I will let you know the wheels aren't the best working so I might recommend just pulling them off all together. But it has three large drawers and four smaller ones. So if you think you could use it, get up with me, and I'll try and work out a time to meet up with you and give it to you (:

#2- Zach and I went up to a National's game on Friday and after battling with the city for over an hour we finally found a metro and were able to get to the stadium. I returned home safely and was telling my Dad about their stadiums really expensive parking, and how we decided to take the metro into the stadium, and I mentioned we parked in Anacostia and took it into Navy Yard. I was then told (by him) that apparently we parked in the worst and probably one of the most dangerous parts of the city. Awessommmme. Zach took great pride in knowing that he can scare of the toughest gangsters in DC though. Anyway here are a few pictures from the game...
View of the scoreboard from our seats (: Look at how ginormous their screen is!

I thought this was kind of funny... its like that whole side of the stadium looks pretty full... and then there are just like three sections that are completely empty. :P
Zach and us wearing Phillies shirts at a "National's" game. (I put "National's" in quotes because to be honest... pretty sure there were wayyyy more Phillies fans than Nat's fans at the game :P)

#3 - Lately I've been loving non-traditional nail colors. Earlier this summer I purchased Rimmel's "Steel Gray" and I really love the color. At first I thought it looked awful with my complexion but it grew on me quickly (and I swear it got darker!)
Obviously this is a picture I got off line but I wanted to show it to you, and I'm feeling lazy. I also must say the formula of this brand (I also have it in Red Stiletto) is really nice. I use a top coat and a base coat and I barely have any issues with it chipping. Plus it goes on thicker than most so it doesn't look too streaky.

Also, Zach decided he needed to buy me a present so this past Friday before the National's game I got Revlon's "Steel her Heart" which is a darker more blue gray color and I put some on my thumb last night to see if I wanted to paint my nails that color this week (I narrow it down to two colors than decide which one I want by painting my thumb :P) and I really like it.
Again- this picture isn't mine but I wanted to show you the color. This is a bit thinner (and not as great a formula) as Rimmel's Steel Gray but I still really love the color. I think I like these colors because they're not "traditional" but they still feel work appropriate. (: Plus I think they'll be really pretty fall colors!

Apartment Shopping?!

With another semester coming up I've started to think about the things I want to start looking at for my apartment. Even though I've gone back to the same apartment for what will be three years now, I seem to always find that I need new things come August.

The first thing I am definitely going to need is my own coffee maker. (And nope- if Rooms wants coffee she can buy her own! I'm VERY particular about things- esp things I use on a daily basis as part of a 'routine'). Somehow over the last 3 years of college I've developed a serious dependency on my morning caffeine. It started when I would should up in my Principals of Accounting class at 9AM diet pepsi in hand, and quickly evolved into needed something caffeinated and warm, because the lib. has some serious climate control issues. Plus I really do just enjoy the taste- a lot. It's very calming to me (except- you know when it spills all over the floor of my car).

As such I've been looking at pots online. I've decided I don't want something white because it'll get spotted up with coffee product and I'm way too anal retentive to have a spotted coffee maker.

I'm thinking this one- which is a Mr. Coffee (black) 12 -Cup Maker. It's from Bed, Bath & Beyond, and if I purchase it in store with a 20% off coupon it'll be $24 (or $25.44 with sales tax) which really isn't so bad if you consider that a cup of coffee is normally $1.50. It pays for itself in less than three weeks!!
If you're super curious this is the link to where I found it on BB&B.com (: (just click the word "link"!)

Another thing that I am REALLY going to need to look into this fall is a shoe organizer. I don't have "that"many shoes, but last year they were always all over the floor of my closet, and I just can't deal with that. Especially since I will be working two days of the week at the accounting firm. I need to be able to find what I need when I need it. For that I'm really just looking for a simple over the door shoe organizer.

Again- I found one at BB&B. It retails for $15, and again with the 20% off coupon it'd only be $12 (or $12.72 with tax!). Not the cutest,  but it just needs to do the job!

Again- if you're super interested in finding this EXACT shoe holder you can find it online at this link

The last thing I'm really looking into is a better storage system to replace all my plastic dressers. They did their job, but they're an eyesore and I hate that you can see everything in them. The current alternative to this solution is this little cube creation that Target has. My only annoyance here is that the little basket to put in the holes really add up (6.99ea x 9 holes ... incase you don't want to do the math that's 62.91 BEFORE tax, PLUS the cost of the actual shelving unit).

Anyway- this is the picture of what I had in mind- I'm still kind of on the fence... I don't really want to spend $100+ to store my gym clothes, and PJ's but I really need something!

I was thinking this and getting the green baskets to put in it. The shelving unit is $50. Plus the added cost of the baskets. Ugh! But I need deep storage because my gym shirts and shorts are always getting jammed in my little plastic sterlite things, and its gotten to the point that I don't even bother putting them away anymore.. Not so awesome. If anyone has any cheaper suggestions leave them here, or on facebook if we're friends! My only hesitation is that I don't want it to be too much like a dresser, I already have a full four drawer stand up dresser that's about four feet high that'll be in the room, and I don't want it to feel cluttered (I have space issues!)

Anyway if you want to look more at the cubemaid thing you can do so at this link

Alright! well that's pretty much what I need (: I should get to bed! Five fifteen comes early and I've got 3+ miles to get in tomorrow morning!

Thanks for reading... stay tuned for more!

Tuesday Night Ramblings

#1- Last night I downloaded lots of new songs for my iPod. Some of my fav's our "Our Kind of Love" by Lady Antebellum, "Turning Home" David Nail, "I'm Yours" Ron Pope **This isn't the same as the Jason Mraz song, it's better, Swear**

Oh okay, I love it so much I'll insert it here.

Oh PS- Ron Pope if you're out there reading this... I'll be yours ;-) (My shameful flirting is charming right?? Totally untrashy.... I'm sure Zachie doesn't mind)

#2- I want more high heels for work. They hurt my feet but look so good.

#3- I can't wait til I have my first coffee maker. I'm picking out names for him.

#4- We had a 4 way joke email going on at work today. Pretty much made my day.

#5- When I have my own home and tons of money to spend on frivolous things (aka in my next life) I am going to buy a red teapot. How cheery!

#6- I used to collect polished rocks when I was little. I'm honestly not sure what ever happened to them! I had amethyst and tigers eye!!

#7- I love twizzlers. No seriously. I love them. I could eat them for hours. I also enjoy using them as straws for my Diet soda.

#8- When I was 8 someone stole gobstoppers from my Halloween basket. They STILL won't admit they did. Um... hello...gobstoppers just don't go missing. They don't have legs.

#9- I want to go to Maine!! I want blueberries, maple candy, mountains, and sweatshirt weather. I want to track moose down the side of the mountain at 5am (oh the things you don't know about my childhood...) and sit outside on a wooden porch in rocking chairs.

#10- Seriously. I find nothing more annoying than when people trying to have a contest of life woes. I know I do it sometimes too so I guess this can go out to me as well... but seriously. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. So you get up early? At least you get up. So you stubbed your toe, at least you HAVE toes. So maybe you fall down a well, lose your wallet, your dog dies, your cat runs away, your favorite jeans shrank in the wash, and you broke your favorite purse snagging it on the door... um, hello you're living, you're breathing, when compared to the alternative do those other things even really matter? Um.  how's about.. nope!

Nobody's Perfect.

1- I have a chronic condition that leads to my inability to ever turn a library book in on time.
2- I get lost everywhere I go.
3- I'm moody and the most irritable person ever sometimes- for pretty much no rational reason at all.
4- I can't resist buying a lip-gloss (or twelve) when it's on sale.
5- I screen my calls.
6- I'm that girl that never knows the right words to the songs but sings along anyway.
7- I leave my hair everywhere I go. I know, super gross. I can't help it. It just falls out and I can't be held liable for knowing the precise location of every single hair on my head at all times. So... sometimes they just kind of... find new homes.
8- I crack my toes all the time.
9- I never respond to events on facebook.
10- I bite my straws.
11- I'm never "satisfied" or complacent. I'm always looking for the next step or more.
12- I am an awful speller. Awful.
13- Sometimes my playful hitting is harder than I intend it to be.
14- I can be pretty selfish.
15- I have no idea where half the states are in our country, and if you were to ask me to point to a foreign country I'd probably point to google. I have no idea where anything in this big world is.
16- When it rains I want sun, when it's sunny I want rain.
17- My skin is allergic to pretty much everything. So is my nose. I sneeze so much that my cube neighbor knows my sneeze pattern.
18- I romanticize everything.
19- I sparknote'd the classics in highschool. Shh- don't tell.
20- I do laundry and fold it, and never seem to be able to actually put it away.
21- I always get nail polish on the outside of my nailbed when I paint my nails.
22- I'll only read chic-lit. I'll only watch chic-flicks. And I honestly like love songs best.
23- I have to have my papers organized in straight piles or I get agitated.
24- I can't keep a pair of shoes clean for more than 2 weeks.
25- If I want a cupcake and I plan to eat it while watching One Tree Hill and someone starts talking to me and ruins my cupcake eating plan... I have to start over again. I have to experience the perfect moment I planned.

Woops...

Woops. Apparently it's been 3+ weeks since I updated my blog, I could make tons of excuses, but I won't bother! :) So... let's get on to the things I wanna run my mouth about.

#1- Internship. It's A LOT to learn all at once. I feel like I don't know how to do anything on my own because one day I do this, and another day I do that. I am convinced I have yet to do the same thing two days in a row and I've been there three weeks now. Other than feeling slow and behind the learning curve I really like it. The people there are really nice, and I think it's a really nice Company to be working for. I have my own little "cube" where I've put up 2 pictures and brought in a beanie baby pig named "sniffs" who sits on top of my adding machine. Sniff's is a new addition as of last Thursday.. if anyone asks me about him I plan on letting them know he's Sniff's the Accounting Pig there to help me sniff out Fraud. Hahaha. Oh I am so lame...

#2- Lately I've really been getting into makeup... which I guess kind of puts me behind the rest of the universe but.. I just feel like none of my friends in high school wore any, so I never got into it then. But it really is a ton of fun. My current favorite is my MAC Viva Glam Gaga lipstick...
Isn't it beautiful?? It was $14, which is probably mildly ridiculous but I've never been able to find a similar color at the drugstore (of course, it's impossible to tell because you can never see the product so I could have tried about 20 and never found the right one!). Also, all the money goes to support the MAC AIDS fund, which is awesome- so that little baby right there was essentially a charitable donation.

Anyway- I might be sharing some news on the "make up" interest front ... but probably not for a few more weeks.. somethings are better kept private haha. But I'll share eventually so stayed tuned!!! (If you're super curious just shoot me a message on FB or something and I might share!)

#3- A few weeks ago Zach and I went up to a Phillies game and it was an absolutely gorgeoussss night for a baseball game. They did lose... but the seats were awesome, the food was awesome, and well you know.. the company wasn't so bad either ;)

That's about all I can think of as far as updates lately... I might post another blog later tonight on "Things I want to Do This Summer"

Updates :)

Okay first of all. I have to admit a little something. I am currently listening to Celine Dion's Christmas music. I know it's like 90 degrees out and humid and bright and sunshiney and no chance of snow in the forecast (Rats... I know how much everyone misses having two feet of snow on the ground) but it is kind of nice and relaxing!

Update #1- I am finally finished the semester!!! I am quite honestly not sure how I made it out alive. It was the most demanding, and stressful semester of my life. Well actually, it was stressful but different kind of stressful than the fall. The fall would have cycles of high, high, high stress followed by periods of relaxation. This spring though (after the snow days) kind of was constantly high stress with periods of spikes in the high stress (with a spike lasting three weeks towards the end of the semester...) **Quick sidenote: Josh Grobon & Celine Dion's duet on the First Noel just came on Pandora, I am in love. Favorite Christmas song ever** Anyway. Somehow... I survived (I get by with a little help from my friends) and finished the semester with a 4.0!!! Yay! :)

Update #2- Kind of related to school, but not really. On the last day of classes my accounting professor held me and 4 other people after class to let us know that we'd been selected to be on the school's "Goodman Accounting Challenge Team" in the Fall (If we wanted to). So- that's pretty exciting. There's a preliminary challenge that's on a Saturday in the fall in Salisbury, which we do and submit online. Then, if we "pass" or something. We go to the "championship" in Richmond, Va. Which I realize sounds kind of nerdy... but it's still exciting. Although.. I think it might be something that only other accounting people find interesting. I dunno- I'm still excited Salisbury has a really good repetition at these competitions (won it for the last handful of years), plus even if we don't win being selected to be on it to begin with is kind of a nice thing.

Update #3- I am going to be a bridesmaid!!!! My childhood best friend Pam came through town this past weekend to ask me! I am so excited the wedding is next May, and we've been friends forever and pretty much started planning our weddings when we were nine. I am sooooo excited :) :) :)!!! So I am going to have to go up to visit her this summer (well ... technically "west") to get the dress! But I am so stoked! From girlscouts to weddings... how cliche and adorable! But seriously, it's going to be beautiful and I can't wait.

Update #4- I now don't start my internship until the 7th of June. Which kind of stinks because I haven't worked in a few weeks so it kind of stresses me out to be so low on cash but I feel like I'd really only use the money to buy myself presents (what.. no one else does... and SOMEONE has to :P) so it's not too big of a deal. Plus it's really nice to have some time off to just read, not think about accounting, and enjoy sleeping in late and such.

Update #5- I weighed myself the other day and since this time last year I've lost 22lbs!!! There's not much else to share n this update I just think it's exciting haha. I don't think I look that different but it's kind of nice to still think that even if my size hasn't changed much I've probably still lost a lot of unhealthy 'fat' and stuff. :)

How Cute is Google Today?!?!?!? :)

So precious!! I feel like I am in Kindergarden all over again! :) Look at the little Lady Bug "O" and the Palm-tree "L"! So adorable.

Things I'm Lovin' Lately.

Hey everyone!!! The semester is finally over! As such I thought a much needed "Things I'm Lovin' Post" was due! :) I'll have lots more up for the next few months (until inevitably school reclaims my soul). Also! I'll do an update blog later this week but for now I wanted to do something fun, summery, and happy.

#1- Light pink lip gloss.

I got the Covergirl Wetslicks the other day in "Shimmershell (350)" and I am basically in love. Not sticky AT ALL, and it goes on pretty much true to color. It is a bit more "sheer" but I'm fine with that because my lips are dark enough that when it's on.. it looks like it should. If that makes sense?

Also- the second pretty pink is from the MAC "To The Beach Collection" and is called "Easy Lounger." Basically.... I am in love. But $14 for a lipgloss? I dunno if I can do it... maybe once I make the big girl accounting moolah. But seriously. How adorable is the packaging, and the color is precious right????

#2 Colorful Flip-Flops

I have been pretty much a rainbow snob for the last 2 years. Wearing, quite literally, only my rainbows all summer except for when I wanted to wear my black leather sandals (maybeeee once a week, twice max). OR when it was raining sometimes I'd go for another pair. This summer though (induced by a lack of currency due to constantly NEEDING to be in the lib.) I opted to try out some of the old navy flipflops since I was trying to preserve my rainbows. All in all. They're precious. I wouldn't wear them if I wanted to wear flops and do a lot of walking but for just throwing on to run to class, or for just hanging out with friends, totally acceptable. And so cheap!

#3 These Two Songs

J*Beib and S*King Eenie Meenie

This song's too long for me to list all those involved (yes... it's only three people I'm just lazy).

I know you're not judging me for my taste in music. I know you're totally not. Right?

#4 Simple Pendants

We won't talk about the very traumatic, tear jerking, pendant fiasco of 11AM this morning, but just know it was awful. Anyway- I really like simple white gold (or yellow) pendant necklaces. They're so wearable. :)

#5- Adorable Running Shorts
I don't own these (yet...) but they're adorable and can be found at Dick's Sporting Goods. I've been looking for some new running shorts since mine are all aboutttt 3 years old. And I loveee these. I mean how cute are they?! They even have pink :)
